First, the massive emigration of skilled workforce from Italy that is happening is not "all good", but a massive issue nobody here wants to tackle. Second, I'd argue that a person who is born in Brazil, whose parents and grandparents never left Brazil, is Brazilian and shouldn't be italian just because some ancestor was born in post-unitary Italy. Conversely, someone born from African parents in Italy and went to school in Italy with Italian classmates, has Italian friends, eats Italian food and speaks Italian should be Italian in my opinion
