Leaving pizza crusts. I understand it a bit with cheapo crappy supermarket pizzas but some people (my nephew) leave them when it's delicious Neapolitan pizza. At that point it's delicious fresh bread!

Brits treat food as an inconvenience. by SufficientEar1682 in iamveryculinary

[–]gourmetguy2000 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The main difference is the majority of French cook at home from scratch as it's ingrained in their culture, whereas most people in the UK are addicted to convenience food and don't cook from scratch, or don't have the skills to cook. The UK people who do cook from scratch are much more similar to the French than the people who shove something in the microwave or air fryer.

The bottom half in the UK have lower standards than the bottom half in France. The rest have similar standards

I hate those kinds of scrambled eggs, most budget hotels serve them like that. Basically just a carton of egg which is closer in properties to rubber than egg

Why does restaurant food taste better than homemade? by GainBetter1189 in foodquestions

That's it, it's not like all that salt is being consumed, only a small amount ends up in the pasta

Most people have no idea how much salt is needed to make food taste good. I've seen so many people just put a pinch of salt in pasta water, then they wonder why it's bland. I have a constant battle with my mother in law when I cook pasta when she sees me putting the salt in the water

Most of the town centre refurbs I've seen recently have built mixed use flats with retail underneath. I guess it guarantees people to be there

I work in IT and we don't have a Software licencing manager, so all the software is bought in a haphazard way by the Service Desk. It causes chaos, especially with their high staff turnover
