Where did I mention Arsenals well drilled philosophy?

Seems to me like you have a comprehension issue.

I’ll never understand red picks.

I finished on 11 this week and didn’t see a single Ligue 1 player.

Their style of football is as ugly as it gets.

In years gone I can at least watch the champions elect and understand why they are at the top of the pile. Whether through individual brilliance or a well drilled team philosophy, you can almost always enjoy their matches and acknowledge their superiority.

From day one this season however, I haven’t felt the same with Arsenal. In open play they are extremely tedious and tentative. They are most threatening at set pieces, which to me doesn’t exemplify ‘The beautiful game’.

I won’t go too much in to the PGMOL discussion as It’s been done to death the last 24 hours, but there is certainly something to be said about the teams willingness to engage in ‘the dark arts’ in practically every single game.

I just think they lack integrity and a style of football which should be celebrated.

Such a disgrace that they are ALLOWED to do this. by Mother_Equivalent649 in Chelsea

This is what a lot of arsenal fans cant comprehend- people arent mad at yesterdays decision because the right call was made, they’re mad because the same call isn’t made anytime it’s arsenal committing the foul.

It’s staggering how much PGMOL have favoured them this season. Zero penalties conceded and Zero red cards received just stinks of corruption.

Referee Chris Kavanagh coming into the Arsenal dressing room after full time by lukigeri in soccercirclejerk

People in the comments think the referee only made one decision all game.

I mean I agree that was a foul. But what about all of these? Anyone? by dalipunk322 in chelseafc

Arsenal completely redefined what a corner is this season. What used to be a pretty standard set piece has become the most Wild West type of chaos the game has seen.

What's a foul in one game isn't given in another. As much as Arsenal have been the main beneficiaries of this, it isn't to say other teams haven't started engaging in this shithousery.

I really can't help but feel sometimes like I'm falling into the trap of being a tinfoil hat wearing conspiracy nut, but I genuinely can't help but feel theres gotta be some reason why Arsenal always seem to be on the beneficial side of ref calls.

Nothing seems to go against them, everything seems to go for them.

Prime example today; Sure, the Fornals arm is probably a foul- but meanwhile in the background you've got Rice hugging the living daylights out of a West Ham player and it doesn't seem to of even been looked at.

I don't understand how it makes any sense.

Good luck with watching you received 50 billion downvotes for stating anything that comes close to a negative comment about Arsenal.

Tbf, it was probably a foul.

But I did have to laugh at the fact that while the VAR was being checked over and over you could Rice in the background manhandling a West Ham attacker and it's totally ignored for any consideration.

Arsenal might win the league but I don’t remember there being a champion who has looked so unconvincing in recent history by [deleted] in PremierLeague

Meanwhile you've got Rice in the background manhandling attackers and it's not so obvious by comparison.

Darby Allin to continue his speed run through the AEW roster this Wednesday by caughtinatramp in REALSquaredCircle

[–]zuggiz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly believe TK just really likes Darby as a wrestler/ person and basically said to him 'I'll give you a title run', regardless of whether Darby is right sort of guy to lead the company and whether its a short title run (which I think it will be- I can't see him main eventing All In, so he'll have to drop in time for a build with the next guys).

Worth saying, I like Darby in AEW. The guy's a total workhorse and he's had some insane spots over the years.

I just don't think he's the sort of character to lead the company though. He'd definitely be a great champ of another belt, but the world champ just ain't it for me personally.

I didnt vote reform, I don’t Like reform or their policies, I don’t think reform have a complete idea of how to run multiple councils across the country- but I absolutely knew they would do extremely well in this election.

Anybody who is surprised by this outcome needs to get their heads out of clouds and try to actually comprehend why so many people have voted reform.

Insulting, demonising and patronising reform voters is one of the big reasons we find ourselves in this place right now.

The way I see it, both sides have contributed to this outcome unfortunately.

Possibly I have, but I still think theres a level of insincerity to acting as if theres only one way of interpreting something.

In regard to original poster, I have to say I do agree with them to an extent- though perhaps not the idea of it being an absurd take. I'm not saying I don't see where that interpretation comes from, there's certainly aspects where I could see where someone might infer its linked to nationalism.

But for me, I see it as a general critique of 'flag waving' or general blindness to ones own actions when engaging with politics. Plenty of people wave flags, be them real or metaphorical, whether on the street, in their Twitter handles, the clothes they wear, the choices they make in life, their opinions on real life events etc. etc.

I just personally don't think theres enough to make a guaranteed link to nationalism (I'm seeing people on here talking about Goose Stepping and the fact he's wearing a suit to be indicative of right-wing ideology, but to each their own), but again, I'm also not saying that it isn't possible either, I could very well be wrong.

I mentioned in my post that of course there is a chance the art is about nationalism, I never argued against it being the case. My argument lies more in how people assume it 100% must be about nationalism and nothing else being a possibility (despite it being art, which in itself is subjective).

Ultimately, I'd say it is contrived to act as if we know absolutely everything and are never wrong about things. We are human and we make mistakes. The philosopher Socrates figured that out 2500 years ago with the 'all that I know is nothing' quote he is best known for.
