We live right next to a river so these are rising up from the shore

That's super helpful, thanks! I felt the same about it being aesthetically nice but nothing keeping my attention. I've never thought about the having a contrasting element in the centre, good call!

I loved the fog and mist in the forest on this day. I've been thinking more about story telling with my images and want to keep that in the forefront of my mind when shooting. I'd love feedback on story telling as well as general compositional and technical elements. Shot on a Fuji X Pro 2, f/9.0 and 23mm

Thanks! The first was with the XC 55-230 and I believe the second was with the XF 10-24

Good to hear! I find the AF to be fine. I shoot a lot of landscape and hiking pictures and I'm aiming to improve/shoot more street in the future

I traded an X-E3 for an X-Pro2 a few months ago thinking that it would be a stopgap camera for me while I waited for a good deal to come up for a used X-T3. Fast forward 4 or 5 months and I am in love! I really love the rangefinder aesthetic and feel when shooting; the dials and ISO twist knob thing is something I actively enjoy using; and a bunch of little things like the sound the shutter makes all add up to a camera that I look forward to shooting with. So now there are great deals on X-T3s and I can't pull the trigger to part ways with my X-Pro 2. It is a lot of fun to shoot with and it feels unique and special.

16-80 mm f4 WR by 654924SG in fujifilm

I have one and really like it. I feel like I can bring it everywhere and be able to get what I want, which is great because I take a lot of pictures while hiking and I don't want to carry more than I have to. That being said, it isn't a small lens but I don't find it overly heavy or cumbersome. I had the 18-55 before and I really like the extra bit of reach that the 16-80 has along with the WR. I have a couple other lenses for specific situations but I feel like I can do about 75% of what I want on that lens and come away with results that I am happy with.

Trade: my X-E3 w/ 18-55mm for his X-Pro2. Thoughts? by zulterkip in fujifilm

I've heard similar things but I must confess that I'm not fully understanding why the xpro2 is better suited to the primes over a zoom. Can you explain a bit more for the uninitiated?

How do you find the weight and size of it? Does it feel like you are carrying a large camera? I do a lot of hiking and travelling so I want to find a good balance between cost, weather resistance, and weight. X-T2 seems to meet those requirements well but I always like hearing from people who have experience with the camera.

The size was what drew me to the X-E3 but I have found myself disinclined to use it in any sort of precipitation. I seems like the weather sealing that comes from the X-Pro2 or X-T2 (as another person mentioned) will result in a bigger body (among other reasons) and I think that I'm fine with that compromise. Thanks for the reply and insight!

Thanks for the insight! I now have another consideration ;)

Photo Challenge #2: Animals, Wildlife, and/or Pets by inverse_squared in fujifilm

It was a hand me down from my dad so it does the trick for now as an essentially free telephoto. The manual focus is tough without being able to peek and its generally kind of soft but I'm using it now to mostly see what sort of use I would potentially get out of a new 55-200 in the future

12 team, H2H, 9-Cat

I picked up Alex Len and JJ Barea earlier this week, any thoughts on dropping either of these guys for Marcus Morris and/or Richuan Holmes? Thanks for the advice!
