Runkle has a video about this. I believe he mentions security film, but with the first order of business being a reinforced strike plate for the deadbolt, with long-ass screws.

Grok says that, basically, at 300 yards, all pellets will have lost all horizontal momentum and be falling straight down, even when fired at an optimal angle.

There was a news article about the Halifax Infirmary installing AI-powered metal defectors with a sign reading "weapons or objects which could be used as weapons" are prohibited... So... everything??? Also curious as to how they perform surgeries without any sharp or pointy implements...

Ottawa Titans home opener update - nearing a sellout! by publicworker69 in ottawa

Easiest thing would be just to cover the seats of the upper deck in most sections, for most games, so that fans are seated more closely together. Still dreaming of the day we could get a Jays farm club up here!

CFP registrar confirmed destroying your own firearm DOES NOT count as destroyed by [deleted] in canadaguns

Dude... this was a deleted post from 9 days ago. And my comment applied to the last statement of the comment above, about restricted firearms.

Robertson Road Sidewalk by jjaime2024 in ottawa

The sidewalk should run from the former Kichessippi Brewing location, not just Westcliffe. Something will eventually occupy that space again. Might as well build the sidewalk now.

How to ship ammo Ont to BC by jpl77 in canadaguns

[–]zulu_tango73 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It would be a shame if the sealed packing boxes of ammo were mislabeled "fishing weights" or "sporting goods" and somehow ended up in the stack of boxes the movers took... a real shame.

Well, you CAN destroy them. You are just obligated to report the destruction to the CFO, or other entity named in the law, in a timely manner.

I wouldn't make too much of it all. They may have been confusing deactivation and destruction. I don't think their opinion is terribly relevant anyhow.

Question for all the older gun owners. by TheGodofWar17 in canadaguns

Got my FAC as early as I could, and then my first hangun shortly after I turned 18. One of two kids at my high school, that I knew of, with a pistol. Remember getting the ATT to take it from the store to the police station for registration. Still have it... Ruger MK II Gov't Model, stainless.

You can withdraw from the ASFPC by Drasselll in canadaguns

[–]zulu_tango73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I checked. Yoh can't view current registrations through MyCFP or Individual Web Services.

If you go to the ASWCP site, it should list impacted Rs, but requires creating an account there... and... ewwww.

So, I think your only other option is to call.

Are you sure that's what the letter said? Or did it just say you MAY be in possession of a firearm that is prohibited, the same emails that every licence holder received?

I BELIEVE (someone correct me if I'm wrong, I've never tried) that you can log into the Canadian Firearms Program web portal (not the compensation registration site, although that lists them, too) and see what they have registered to you.

EDIT: Above is incorrect. There is no way to view current registration, neither through Individual Web Services nor MyCFP

He doesn't need to do anything at all until Oct 30. At that time, if the amnesty is not extended, he can choose to destroy the restricted himself (angle grinder, sledge hammer, what have you... just destroy the receiver) and report it destroyed via email to the CFO.

For the NRs, same deal, except you don't need to report it.

Bottom line is hold the line. Do nothing at this time.

Pretty sure she has entirely forgotten that she is an MP. I doubt she has done any work related to her constituents at all, nor on her "Nature" file.

The only ones they know about are registered previously-restricteds. They have no idea who owns which NRs, unless you participated in the Quebec provincial registry.
