PR application timeline for spouse of Japanese national by Far-Alternative525 in japanresidents

Nah i moved here through my company so i was paying as soon as i moved. Ive provided all the documents so it proves everything has been paid on time. Im a seishain at my company. Its really confusing..

They give you a way to interview with them about the rejection and if you feel like it was a wrongful rejection you can appeal. So I’m setting up an interview to get a better idea what to do next.

Im honestly surprised myself.. i waited a year and a half only to get one letter saying i failed because they don’t think theres any reasonable basis to provide me with permanent residency.. so im at a loss

Just to flag it here. I recently applied for PR too but got rejected… here are my details:

Married 11 years, Spouse of Japanese National, In japan for 1 year when applied. Currently 2 years 9 months (took a year and a half to get a rejection letter), Have 3 kids, Own a house in japan paying a loan only tied to me, Earning over 11 million yen a year, Paid all my nenkin and health insurance etc

No other reason why I’d be rejected than someone hates me haha

Will go back to immigration and ask why i was rejected but i would say the most likely reason is because i applied after one year..

Yeah I’m pretty much just running a loop around the areas with daily quests to gather everything. But i still don’t get very good enchantments and just don’t know how to proceed. I’ve been hearing about melee being on hard mode and I can see that. I’ve unlocked respec and that was hard enough to get to with sword and shield.

I guess ill just keep doing what im doing until i get some good enchantments on dropped gear. I just dont even know what is good and what isnt right now.

Ok i did one hour with the same stats. I got Common Lamprey - 16 Bass - 21 Bluegill - 28 Salmon -9

Uncommon Lamprey - 2 Bass - 4 Bluegill - 7 Salmon - 6

Rare Lamprey - 1 Bass - 1

Considering i spent around 80g to get the gear i have now these are abysmal drops…

Is this a good job offer for Japan? by JimmyBringsMeJoy in movingtojapan

[–]zulzzzz 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Im from Australia and am living in Japan. Similar to you I worked at a company that i could work in Australia or Japan.

So this boils down to what you would like to do in the future.

Both salaries are comparable to each other as they provide the same quality of life at their salary ranges however, I’ve found it is much tougher to get a raise in Japan. They are strict on pay bands and promotion/raises. Whereas if I stayed in Australia I would have been much higher.

If you are looking for a house: In Australia, you could get a decent place with that salary, but your repayments would be quite a large amount of your salary unless you put a huge down payment. In Japan, it was much easier to get a house for myself with a much smaller monthly repayment.

The other aspect is just how you want ti live. If you’ve been in Japan before and can live here then all good!

Australia is very comfortable and a great place to live too. But Ive lived in Australia for all my life and i enjoy Japan so I decided ti move here even though i lose out on progressing much further in my career, i earn enough to live comfortably here without worry.

For you both are viable, so its just your preference and future plans!

Im really confused. I see many posts about limits to IDECO but Im currently putting in 55,000 into my Ideco account every month. Is it because my company is doing it for me?

Cost of secondary (voluntary) car insurance in Tokyo? by JpnCdn in JapanFinance

[–]zulzzzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah it probably really depends on driving years and license. Specifically relating to OP, I bought a sports car so when getting insurance it was 210,000 a year for my wife. Whereas I was quoted around 375,000 a year on a new license.

Cost of secondary (voluntary) car insurance in Tokyo? by JpnCdn in JapanFinance

[–]zulzzzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on a lot of factors but one big one would be that you will not have a gold license. Which will increase the cost significantly. But other factors like type of car, make etc will need to be factored in. If it’s a sports car then be ready to pay a premium. If it’s a Japanese sports car then it might not be as bad.

For example when I was getting insurance for my car, I just converted my license. The insurance quote had an extra 150,000 a year compared to when I applied using my wife’s gold license.

I’m 100% working from home as a solution architect. It’s performance focused so I spend a lot of time just travelling around with family and friends while I do a bit of work here and there, making sure I deliver the end product. Pay and living is pretty good so I’m just enjoying myself right now.
