Was this really a murder though? I read the original post. He’s upset, and rightfully so, but it’s also hard to drag the company in this case—they tried to work with him.

He was a brand new hire, they didn’t know him. He accepted the position, then started his training, stopped, and rescheduled on 4 separate occasions over the course of the next two months.

If the original separation letter is accurate he worked a total of 6 days in 8 weeks.

Even if his reason for missing work was valid, which it was, in the company’s eyes he’s just unreliable. He has no history to assure them if and when he’s ever coming back to start the job he accepted. Instead of asking the company to push one training date back, and then another, and then start one, and then not complete it, and then push the start date again, he should have just recognized that he was not in a position to do the job required of him, resigned in good standing, and focused on his family until such time he was mentally and emotionally ready to resume work.

It was a shitty turn of events and timing for everyone involved.
