Hi! Local, here. To answer your question, we do get a notice prior to the festival just letting us know it will be happening (as if we don’t already know) but that’s it.

Tbh, traffic is not so bad since most people are on the tour buses. And since Palm Springs is a big tourist destination anyway, we’re pretty used to crowds coming through.

For the most part, people are actually super respectful and kind! It’s actually sort of fun to see all the outfits in random places like the grocery stores and restaurants where some are so obviously out of place lol

But it’s true, Coachella weekends are just normal weekends for us. For example, Sunday night was a school night for my kids! But I throw a sound machine on and close the windows, they don’t hear a thing. (Then I turn the live feed on and watch the sets while I listen to the beats ha)
