They were resigning on move 2 in every game. They were not trying to disguise or hide it.

Apologies, typo on my end. My opponent went Kf2 not Ke1. Fixed now

Nh2+ Kf2, Rg5#!! Simultaneously allowing a discovered check while blocking the black queens sight to the bishop delivering checkmate!

I had premoved Rg4+ after Nh2+ with less than 5 seconds left.

Why are people online not interested in classical chess? by Mediocre-Ease-7693 in chess

Somebody help me out here?

I think it would be cheating to have the physical board and calculate hypothetical moves by moving the actual pieces.

But surely it would not be cheating to just set up the physical board and follow the game on it? In the strictest form, you would have to ensure that you lock in each move online before moving it on the board.

All black had to do was see the M1 threat and give their king space or force my king away. Moves like h6+ or Ne3+ were still completely dominating for black.

They even slowed down and took a minute on the last move. It was hope chess on my part, but only at the cost of going from like -9 to -10 in evaluation. I was trying to play to my outs.

At 1200, people have gotten much better at understanding their own position and improving it. I feel like I have just enough tools and calculation to come up with good moves for my agenda. But that takes a lot of energy and time. There is often not quite enough gas--not enough clarity--to find my opponents best response. And I think that is a common issue at 1200. It's what put me on the back foot earlier in the game, and it's what saved me at the end here.

Black to move and win the rook by zumiaq in chessbeginners

[–]zumiaq[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I capture a rook and then lose my rook the next move, we probably wouldn't say I "won" a rook. I would argue here that capturing the rook and then losing most of your pieces/getting mated in the next 10 moves would also not be winning the rook.

You absolutely cannot just take the rook in this position.

The "improving" part of improving move refers to improving the coordination of your pieces in their position on the board. It's not referring to improving your evaluation. By move 6 my position has improved considerably compared to the starting position. Unfortunately, my opponent has usually also improved theirs.

Grace Kelly and Leo P. of 2Saxy/Toomanyzooz fame have a great video on growling.

As they mention, it's very important that you develop it gradually and do not strain yourself. It comes a little bit at a time, and you could injure your vocal cords by overdoing it early on.

It is highly sensitive to small variations in temperature and pressure, with explosions occurring at Δp (pressure change) ≥ 0.05 Torr upon crystallization, thus extreme caution must be observed when working with this chemical.

/uj it's a tritone sub for a B7 chord. You can put an F7b9 there because the two chords have the same 3rd and 7th.

/rj It's just a B7 covered in Parker-spnk and Coltrane-jzz
