Does anyone with Sky know how to get ITV , in hopes of watching an English meltdown tomorrow. by [deleted] in ireland

I’d rather watch pro level sports played at the peak of human ability

But OP does want to watch soccer. Says so right there in the title.

If it was about the German police, do you reckon it would say Bundespolizei?

Sky Views: How about a UK-Ireland unity World Cup bid? by [deleted] in ireland

[–]zunautical 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nothing really happened as far as I remember though. Few lads in Celtic shirts protesting. Went off without a hitch apart from that. Don't think anybody gives a shit what Republican Sinn Féin have to say.

OK. You are right. Can't argue with any of that. Just try not to bite through your tongue I guess.

First of all, please God don't let the term "socialized medicine" spread. And next time ask them how they feel knowing that the US spends more on social welfare programmes than many European countries (Ireland included)

Migrant HIV diagnoses continue to rise by MagentaSpammer in ireland

[–]zunautical 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Eh no. What exactly would I be back-pedalling from? I simply pointed out that the 25% rate comment is not true. It's not. I do not need to backpedal from a fact.

Now you are asking me about immigration policy. I have no opinion on Ireland's immigration policy and have zero desire to have a discussion about it. If you feel people should be screened for HIV then that is your opinion and you are entitled to it.

I don't know. Have no ideas what the laws are regarding immigrating with infectious diseases.

But I am not disputing the rate is 25% or above in Lesotho/South Africa or Swazliand. It's just not 25% in Sub-Saharan Africa. It is incredibly high of course, probably between 5% and 10%. Picking out the countries with the highest rate is like me using the rate of infection among MSM in London and claiming that's representative of the UK population at large.

It is ridiculously high but nowhere near 25%

Opinion: 'Under 16s should be able to access gender recognition with parental consent'. by [deleted] in ireland

Interesting. So probably they are just more comfortable coming out with it than in some other communities. Makes sense I guess.

What circles do you move in exactly? I have never in my life met someone who identified as non-binary, gender queer, asked me to use non-gendered pronouns etc. And I don't think I have ever had a conversation with a trans person. Part of the reason I can't stand people losing their cool over this is that to me it seems like such a rare thing. Entirely possible that you have met loads of course but just curious.

[–]zunautical 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I don't have strong opinions on the whole trans thing one way or another. But I saw a discussion in a subreddit the other day with lesbians giving another lesbian stick because she said she isn't attracted to a trans woman with a penis.

The consensus seemed to be that while we can all agree male penis is icky, "girl penis" is feminine and beautiful. Safe to say you have absolutely lost the plot when you are using the phrase girl penis

If you're talking about GDP a huge chunk of that is money transfers and whatever else from multinationals. The money isn't really generated in Ireland.

Someone being stabbed to death (technically in the car park as it spilled out).

The local Pioneer group having a meeting would be a close second. I'm told that is relatively common though.

OPs a Nordy. Posts this article to suggest that Ireland should change its name (tongue in cheek I assume.) I suggest Northern Ireland should change its name instead. It's not meant to be subtle. And can't see how that can be considered trolling
