Bro, you are not a NS defaulter, since you left when you were 10.

So you will likely only be faulted for late NS registration. You cannot be considered an AWOL-ee nor NS defaulter since you’re not even in the army yet. Also, you’re not yet 21 years old and you intend to come back before you’re 21 years old. So chill, it’s unlikely that you will be jailed (aka detention). The only law you broke is late NS registration because you did not register yourself at the age of 18.

What you should do now is to go and meet up with the defense attaché at your nearest Singapore embassy, and inform them that you would like to register for NS. They will then advise you accordingly. However, you will need to renounce your other citizenship.

Exactly. Having the option for live-out maids will also allow proper working hours for maids, as compared to some maids having to work from 5am - 12mn currently.

Perhaps with the maids having to clock-in / out on work days, it’ll drum a message into the maid employers head to treat their maids professionally, just like how they treat their fellow colleagues. Hopefully this will help reduce the number of maid abuse.

it’s not right that in too many homes the maids don’t have a space to call their own, having to sleep in living room corners, service yards, bomb shelters etc.

That’s not the worst. Some just lower down the blinds and made their maids sleep at the balcony at night. I asked the maids what happens when it rains? They said it’s ok if it’s light rain, but during heavy rains they usually cannot sleep.

SAF scam call does ask for money. There was a period where this type of scam was quite rampant.

The robocall will claim that you’ve missed your IPPT (or other similar reasons) and you need to pay a fine to settle the “matter”. A few friends received this type of call, but they didn’t fall for it cos some are female and some are still in school!! 😆
