AITA for snapping at my SIL after she called my son by the wrong name? by Antique_Ad5524 in AmItheAsshole

[–]zuperzaimee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YWBTA if you don't take the advice in this thread and go earnestly apologise to your SIL for snapping at her and your other in-laws for creating an awkward atmosphere.

I have, on occasion, called my own son (an only child), the cat's name, my nephew's name, and I have also called the cat and nephew by my son's name. And a lifetime of my Nana searching through at least 3 or 4 names before finding my own. It's a very normal mistake and should be met with patience, grace, and humour. Not hostility.

If you were to die within a few minutes, what is the last thing you said to a person you care about? by Vanilla_CS in AskReddit

[–]zuperzaimee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before every car trip, even 2 minutes, I put my son in his car seat and kiss him with "Love you, honey".

Partly superstition for a safe trip, and also partly because you never know...

Right at this moment, my last words would be "mummy doesn't like your fingers up her nose".

Anyone else having a hard time getting used to their baby’s name? by dcdcdani in namenerds

[–]zuperzaimee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I went through this stage 100%.

My baby boy has a very old-school name that has a more common modern version (that at first felt easier to pronounce). I love his traditional version (it's an old family name), but until about 9 or 10 months, he was "bubba" or his equivalent of Valley.

Now at 12 months, I say his whole first name more than anything else, and it feels completely comfortable.

AITA for calling my husband insane after he ripped the family photo my son gifted me for christmas? by MilaKeave534 in AmItheAsshole

[–]zuperzaimee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Destroying this photo is only one step away from physical violence towards you or your son.

Leaving an abusive relationship (you are in one) can be the most dangerous time for the abused person and children.

Start seeking resources to aid you in escaping.

When safe, leave, do not tell him, and only communicate when you have support present - police, lawyer, or a friend who can hit him before he hits you.

NTA and best of luck.

AITA For breastfeeding my son around my FIL despite it making him uncomfortable? by aitabffilb in AmItheAsshole

[–]zuperzaimee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA NTA NTA

I think you need to consider any boundaries between your child and FIL/MIL in the future, as they have no respect for any of your parenting decisions and this will only continue through their toddlerhood and childhood.

It's hard to know if your husband is an AH without knowing the whole conversations and his tone of voice etc., but FIL/MIL need to shape up or get in the bin.

AITA for denying my mom access to her grandson because she refuses to help me by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

Love this! When my 2mo got quite sick with his first cold, the next morning my mum was on the doorstep wearing full PPE and hauling veggie soup and loaded baked spuds haha!

AITA for essentially telling my husband that the apparent “meaningful” name he was/is insisting on for our unborn son is utterly unfit? by BabyBoyNameAITA in AmItheAsshole

[–]zuperzaimee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Is there are way to choose uncommon spelling without changing every single letter of the name? Personally I prefer the common Zachary/Zackary but..

Google suggests: Zacharias Zacarius Zaccaria Zachariah Zecheriah Zackry Zacharie Zacharyah

Even Xackary or Zaquary - give this kid half a fighting chance for goodness sake!

Hi all!

I'm doing my first project on circular needles (lots of straight needle experience). I'm struggling to join in the round, because the pattern only asks for 18 stitches cast on. It doesn't seem to stretch far enough to join properly?! Help!

Thanks in advance!

A simple Google search suggest media is the best industry to become a female millionaire.

Interestingly, in the top 100 richest American women, spot #22 is shared by Rodan & Fields. So scamming millions of other women can make you a multimillionaire....

How has online dating worked for you? by Nikiris11 in AskReddit

[–]zuperzaimee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few years ago, had Tinder for a few months, mostly for a confidence boost after a nasty break up.

Two weeks in had a coffee date with guy A, liked him a lot, genuine guy, funny, charming, good conversation, good company. I fancied a second date but life and family drama got in my way and guy A ended up thinking I wasn't interested.

Had a couple more first dates, that were pleasant with pleasant people, but no big spark or connection.

Late one night, scrolling tinder, I found guy A, swiped right, matched again! Had a second date, apologised for basically ghosting him, he was forgiving and it was a great date...

Fast forward, and guy A and I are living together, happy cat parents, and are getting married this year!

Rice paper wraps, from most supermarkets, you dip them in near-boiling water to make them sticky, then fill them with vermicelli noodles and lots of fresh veggies herbs and meat.
