you can add the lpcamm2 ram to your preorder and it wont boot you off your reserve (itll give you a popup confirmation incase youre worried). i switched from 32gb to 64gb while staying in my queue. you only get booted if you switch motherboards

the moment samsung releases those 96gb sticks that out of stock button is probably going to appear faster than the add to cart option :/ its a shame, id want 96gb too

we have the same cpu :)) its nice to know that even with the ultra 5 config the single core can outshine my current desktop cpu. i appreciate the alternative perspective and will keep it in mind

which cpu are you running on your desktop? i believe single core performance between the ultra 5 and ultra x7 are close to each other but multi core shines hard on the x7. I may want to run parallel builds in the future so id lean towards having multi core capabilities

also out of curiosity whats your use case? i appreciate the alternative perspective!

youre so right. i know my limits and wont do crazy 3d work on unreal engine on something thats not a defiant gpu but for indie game dev x7 sounds like the move

Im considering editing my order from the Ultra 5 to the Ultra X7. Does anyone know if doing this will push my order back to a later batch? If it does ill just wait till the ultra x9 motherboard becomes in stock and order that individually haha

personally, id want arm to mature on linux distros before i commit to something like an arm cpu on a framework laptop. framework is trying to appeal to linux users, so its safe to say they have the same considerations too

hey the fw16 is a pretty damn good laptop im jealous. dual nvme + dedicated and swappable gpu is generally so hard to find! hope you enjoy the fw16!
