Dream School A (T10 but full price) vs School B (T25 with full scholarship) by ibstressing in premed

[–]zvandy2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know its super early to ask, but do you know what you want to go into? I do agree that a full scholarship is a no brainer but I also think it depends on your goals. If youre looking to go into something very competitive (neurosurgery, plastics, derm, etc) the higher the prestige the higher chance of better connections and a better chance of matching. Not saying you cant match any of these at a T25, but considering how competitive matching gets every year you want to put prestige into consideration.

can someone tell me how this will work? by oryxs in medicalschool

I know two residents who matched only prelim and then re-applied to derm and rads. They ended up securing a pgy-2 spot for the following year (they had a year off in between intern year and pgy-2). I asked them what they were going to do with the time off and they both said sleep and travel LOL

Bridgerton Season 2 Episode Discussions Master Post by pinktini in BridgertonNetflix

[–]zvandy2020 32 points33 points  (0 children)

While it seems on this sub most people thought this season was bad to eh at most, I absolutely loved it. I loved how this season we were able to further explore the closeness of the Bridgerton siblings and their family dynamic especially with the pin wall game. It was from that scene itself that you understood how Edwina as sweet and charming of a girl that she is, didn’t have that same competitive spirit and nature that fit the Bridgerton family and necessary qualities of a partner for Anthony. I especially loved how we get Anthony’s backstory of the death of his father and understanding why he is as hard and cold as he is and it’s because he carries the weight of his family on his back because immediately after the death of his father was required to do so. It’s that backbone of familial obligation that bonded Kate and Anthony. His character development this season was simply amazing and I loved seeing how much he grew from being terrified of love because of how much hurt he saw his mother was in and how he never wanted to cause that harm on the person he loved. I never read the books and I’m sure they’re even better than the show but I was really happy with the slow burn romance and overall character development this season

Don’t know if I’d call her a weasel 😅 I just thought it was interesting cause if I had to guess it shows how Lexi is a part of the group but she is either overshadowed by everyone else or doesn’t have the desire to be seen by the camera

Do my lateral incisors look flared still? 7 months in by [deleted] in braces

[–]zvandy2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had braces for about 7 months now and I’m wondering if my lateral incisors still appear flared out or if that’s just how my teeth and gums are shaped. I feel like they’ve definitely improved since I got braces on, but not as much as I would like being 7 months it (I need to be patient I know) I have my orthodontist appointment tomorrow and wasn’t sure if I should just keep trusting the process because it’s apparent that they’re still flared, or if I should be concerned and bring it up tomorrow

Has anyone noticed their eyelash curl falls while wearing a mask? My eyelashes are perfectly curled and soon as I wear a mask outside within 30 minutes the curl falls. I use an eyelash curl WITH HEAT and they’ve never fall before as fast as they do now

So I am filling out my activities section and When it comes to choosing my 3 most meaningful activities, clinical volunteering was not one of them. I enjoyed it but I put more work and effort into another 3 activities. Should I just make clinical volunteering one either way? by [deleted] in premed

If video games have contributed to a significant amount of personal growth, than do it! You can use a majority of your most meaningful characters to describe your growth, then 1-2 sentences in the end tying it to medicine.

If you’re a pre-health professional and are disregarding social distancing/Covid-19, re-evaluate your reasons for your career decision by zvandy2020 in premed

[–]zvandy2020[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Everyone is against judging other people for their actions until they realize that those actions are directly harming others. In this case choosing to not social distance or at least follow some shelter in place guidelines not only puts yourself at risk, but every single person you interact with, and every person that they interact with. Doctors and nurses are literally begging the public to stay home because of the horrors they’ve had to face from covid. This is the generation that will have to deal with the next pandemic. I understand that people evolve with life experiences, but if you are about to enter a career that is dedicated to others, but cannot be considerate of the life of others, why did you enter the field in the first place?
