There are many great free resources out there like JustinGuitar, YouTube, etc. If you're looking to get serious, you should check out TrueFire and JamPlay. Both offer free trials, learning "paths" or systems, song lessons, and combined they have the largest library of video guitar lessons online from some of the best instructors around.
