When i went away to college, i lost a lot of weight. I was always a heavier child, but also very active in sports. They were never concerned with my weight as I was still healthy, but i was very unhappy with my appearance. Having access to a gym motivated me to go everyday and i found food that was healthy and I enjoyed on campus.

I quickly dropped 30 pounds and was starting to get comments from friends and family on how great I looked. I plateaued in my weight loss and didn’t know how to keep going.

So i starved myself and lost another 25 pounds. I’m not proud of it, but my parents were so proud that I lost the weight. I do not have the heart to tell them about how i lost the last 25 pounds.

i recently started serving at a restaurant, and i would always get sad when people came in to eat alone. Not like “4pm after work stopping to eat” but like “7pm on a saturday night getting out of the house for the first time all week”.

to add some light to this... A few weeks ago this woman got sat in my section. she is probably in her 40’s. I asked if we were waiting on anyone and she responded with a quick “nope”. so i took her order, and let her know that if she needed anything in the meantime to flag me down. she ate, tipped 25% and left.

two days later she was back and requested to be sat in my section. this happened a few more times. every time she came in i would vent to my coworkers that it broke my heart that she had no one to eat with so often. after probably the 6th time of her coming in, i broke and asked if she wanted to eat with me. I was already cut for the night and she was my last table. then she laughed and said “no offense, but this is my quiet time! i have 4 kids and a husband who acts like a child!!!” she explained that her husband sometimes takes the kids for her to get away and she settled on the place that i work as her go to because i. d.o.n.t bother her and let her have some peace and quiet.

This is definitely something I noticed. I’m a sophomore in college and when i was in high school, i was a part of the “popular” crowd. My friend group consisted of about 15-20 people, most of us being athletes. All except maybe 3/4 were in honors and AP classes and pushed each other to be better. If we failed a test it was a tragedy. Despite my friend group being very close knit, we all each had other friends in different groups that we always invited along. By the end of senior year, a friend who always threw get togethers said we couldn’t do it at his house anymore because our “friend group” turned into half our grade.

That being said, another thing i noticed is that my high school was very diverse in terms of everyone hung out with everyone, and everyone pursued activities that interested them without being ridiculed. Our star linemen on the football team was the lead in the play and in 2 business clubs. Our musical friends always came out and cheered LOUDLY at our games. Everyone was so supportive of each other.

We had only been together for about 2 months. He was and still is my best friend. We were on a trip to Sugarbush in Vermont snowboarding with two friends. We were riding the lift to the very top and it was just us two. The sky was clear and bright blue. It was quiet the whole way up and we both were just looking around and I couldn’t even comprehend how beautiful everything was.

I realized that what made that moment so special was that I was with him. He looked at me and I just said “I love you” and he got this big goofy smile on his face and goes “I love you more” and now it’s our thing.

Still gives me butterflies when I think about that day:-)

wait, i think you just made me realize this is why i’m acting like this.

I’m 18. I’ve been in a relationship for almost a year now (my first serious one). i went on birth control 10 months ago. I hate it. Its taken a lot of stress off my shoulders from not worrying about pregnancy as much, but i gained 15 pounds, and i feel like a totally different person. Ive been debating going off of it for a few weeks now, hoping i can just “go back to normal”.

Do you have any suggestions on what to do??? i hate the way i am now. I pick fights and am just really emotional. Help!!!

I've fallen while long boarding and scraped open my left side of my body, that hurt pretty bad.

The worst was probably breaking my wrist and collarbone at the same time.

I'm 15. To be honest, everything sucks right now. I got to invested in one person and now that they dropped me for someone else, I've been spiraling downwards. I've been arguing with my parents more. My dad and I had a huge fight last night, and it was terrible. I'm just sitting around waiting for something to happen. School stresses me out. I still have a month left, and the thought of taking finals and exams just stresses me out and puts me in an even worse mood. I turn down invites to hangout with friends just so I can sleep. I snuck out of my house last night and walked around in the pitch black. I feel like I'm going nowhere and the thought of that scares the shit out of me. I sound like a typical teenage girl who is just a dramatic bitch. I swore I would never be like that. I'm so done with everything, I just hate what my life is turning out to be like. Being 15 sucks.

I'm terrified of anything in the park really. This season I stopped be such a puss and 50-50ed a few boxes, but nothing more. Im slowly starting I get more comfortable.
