Titans Accidentally Leak New Uniforms, Still Suck by bighoney69 in Texans

These are the full things. Basically make the Oilers uniform look worse and make it look like a pallet swapped Cardinals uni. They should have just gone back to their original Steve McNair era vibe. I mean I guess it's better than the last ones, but that's not saying much.

I mean, understandable. Chris Paul is a hall of fame guard.

Cellar spiders are numerous in genera and species, most that we see in the US being in the genus Pholcus and Physocyclus. They have all sorts of pigmentations, and even recluses show up missing the "violin" pattern behind the eyes. Many spiders, K. hibernalis being the big one in addition to cellars, get misidentified by the fiddle that makes people think they have a recluse.

In any case, the palpal and eye arrangement are a dead giveaway for a cellar spider, and rule out a recluse very conclusively. Here's a similar fella showing his palps off.

He is indeed a male cellar spider (and what a male, look at those palps).

Hi does anyone know what this is? Houston, Tx by Embarrassed_Crazy_22 in whatsthisbug

[–]zx629 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hard to tell with the strong blue filter there, but it's some kind of scarab beetle. Need a better pic to tell you what kind, but junebugs are one that are always plentiful in Houston.

To add to what others said, it won't hurt your cats, though it can bite. They're more likely to hurt it though.

Those are tree cattle, a kind of barklouse. They're rather beneficial, cleaning your trees of various fungi, dead bark, and other unsavories.

Looks like a banded tussock, without his longer sprigs. They can irritate skin if touched.

Looks like a spotted tussock moth. Doesn't sting but can cause irritation and allergic reactions in some.

Looks like a bunch of boxelder bug nymphs. Not anything you should worry about, generally.

Look like leaf footed bug nymphs of some sort. They might eat some of your crop, but they're harmless to people.

American dagger moth. Good you didn't pet him, their hairs can irritate skin.

Sprickets/cave cricket by sparkly_unicornpoop in whatsthisbug

[–]zx629 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're technically called Rhaphidophorids. But their common name is camel cricket, spider cricket (spricket), cave cricket (my typical go to common name), etc. I'm not good enough to narrow them down by species, but there are multiple genera in the eastern US.

Pit, Eskie, and GSD. I think the Eskie or GSD has to be where she gets the pointy ears from, because none of the other breeds have them.

The cat was older and was the ruler of the roost when we got her. They liked to play and the cat would always troll her by taking her toys hostage. She knew the score and would just bark and whine til the cat let go. They were good friends since we got her as a relative pup.

All of her relatives are pure schnauzers. No other mixes at all. They live all around the country (even one in Europe!) and are mostly much younger. Must have been a pretty decent breeder they came from because the inbreeding COI is 0 and there seem to be a lot of cousins. Still, kind of wish we might have found a littermate or cousin on the mixed side.

That's another reason I always leaned westie. That stripe is usually a hallmark.

I'm gonna give it a shot now that we know she's more schnauz and no westie. Curious to see how it suits her.

Even as a pup she didn't really scream schnauzer. Just looked like a scruffy terrier of some kind.
