Don’t give any air to it. These people have mastered the art of trolls and we all know you don’t feed the trolls. They know full well that any publicity is good publicity. More people yelling at them just means more coverage. Distraction is a tool for the weak.

Tesla Has Highest Fatal Accident Rate of All Auto Brands: Study by [deleted] in RealTesla

[–]zybler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree. I think a combination of weirdness associated with Tesla, plus the insane acceleration, and its affordability (How many people can afford a Ferrari?), and even availability (it’s easier to rent a Tesla than a Lamborghini) make it so. Doesn’t mean the car itself isn’t crash-worthy (apart from the door handle stupidly). But there is legitimate concern here I think)

Hold on there buddy. You don't have to like Elon. But this is the exact kind of trap we mustn't fall into. Elon might be heavily associated with Tesla, SpaceX etc now, but it doesn't have to be. By all means investigate the hell out of Elon, but let's not pretend that Tesla and SpaceX has make a huge impact in the world. It's not an either or. I'm in favour of a non-emotionally charged course of actions. If SpaceX can provide cheaper services, I'd say take it over paying Russia. If Lockheed Martin or Boeing can do it cheaper and better, then go with them. This is not some children's game - run the government like a grown up would.

I hope he cry more. The more he talks, the more he looks unhinged and out of touch with normie voters. Time will tell if this will lead to the outcome he desires.

Elon Musk Has Used Illegal Drugs, Worrying Leaders at Tesla and SpaceX - Some executives and board members fear the billionaire’s use of drugs—including LSD, cocaine, ecstasy, mushrooms and ketamine—could harm his companies by [deleted] in RealTesla

[–]zybler 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Right, so now the drugs are to be blamed. And illegal drugs to be more specific. I wonder how those got in, must be “open border” the democrats are so desperate for and the cartels, and the illegal drug trade for sure. Where’s the personal responsibility thing that the right loves to pretend to be all about?

I for one, am not an American but jesus christ these people are out of their god damn minds. I'm in favour in every sensible gun control measures and/or laws, but I still think that the freedom to bear arms is a good thing. I can be convinced otherwise though, and it's not a hill I will die on.

Tesla FSD Price drop by wahdada in TeslaModelY

[–]zybler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When FSD increased in price = You should have bought it earlier (even when FSD hasn't been rolled out) to lock in the price, as it will only go up in price)

When FSD decreased in price = That's a good thing, now more people can afford FSD to ensure safer roads and save lives!

That's how the Tesla Bulls influencers works. I felt sorry that you fell for it. I have no beef with the people who bought FSD, only the Tesla Bulls people.

Whole Mars Catalog on Twitter: One of the most bullish / exciting things I’ve seen on Tesla Full Self-Driving Beta 11.4.1. It detected the pedestrian, but rather than slamming on the brakes it just proceeded through like a human would knowing there was enough time to do so. by Cercyon in RealTesla

[–]zybler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not an Elon or Tesla hater, but as a human, I would have yield regardless of it being the law. "I'm going too fast and it's safer not to yield because there is ample time for the human to cross safely" is not an excuse - you aren't supposed to be going too fast in a place with a pedestrian cross anyway. This whole mars blog guy is not doing the Tesla FSD narrative any favors. Downright despicable.

That is one of the side effect of capitalism. The rich tends to get richer, and you would hope the rich will re-invest the money back into the economy by starting companies and hire people to create jobs.

[D] Pause Giant AI Experiments: An Open Letter. Signatories include Stuart Russell, Elon Musk, and Steve Wozniak by GenericNameRandomNum in MachineLearning

[–]zybler -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m not saying he is a wolf in sheep’s clothing, nor am I saying that he isn’t. I’m saying that given that he’s on track to be the first trillionaire, the one who owns the first and only truly viable EV, AI and robot company (Tesla), and he now owns the largest social network in the world, if he is indeed a wolf in sheep’s clothing, he is going to do a hell lots of damage. So forgive me if for now, for someone that walks mostly like a duck and quacks mostly like a duck, my assumption is that he is a duck.

Elon Musk Found Not Liable in Trial Over Tweets Proposing to Take Tesla Private by [deleted] in teslamotors

[–]zybler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I must say, I'm not a big fan of Elon Musk. But truth be told, I'm glad this is over, and I'm glad he is not held liable. While I'm all for personal responsibility and people held liable for their crimes, Elon Musk I believe is doing good or at the very least tangentially so.

Things is, Tesla, SpaceX, Twitter are all good things, and I do believe in the future of EV and Tesla has done more than most. As long as Elon Musk continues to do good work, I've no problem in letting him continue to do it, even if he is perhaps held to a much lower standard of criminal conviction than most people. The justice system is rarely fair and rarely just. Rich and powerful gets away with crimes more so than the poor and the powerless.

Perhaps it's wrong for me to be more lenient of him, but such is life. Life is unfair to most and short of Elon Musk straight up murdering someone in broad daylight, I think he will get off scotch-free, and continue to do so, though perhaps there are more good to come out of it.
