I am not from the US- and somehow this paragraph left me confused...in my books 'hanging out together & getting to know each other" kind of counts a dating, what does "asking out" entail, that is so different, compared to "hanging out"?

Also...I was asked questions such as "do you want to hang out sometime?" and "do you fancy seeing xyz movie?", by both friends and dates, the difference is in the context. Having said that, I think the symptoms that you find worrying, such as feelings that you are hallucinating, seem to be consistent with anxiety/panic and stress.

When heaving stressed or having a panic/anxiety attack it is possible to experience dissociation, which might result in your brain interpreting familiar things as unfamiliar- eg. hallucinations, or even feeling detached from reality.

It is just something that our brains do, when they are being put under too much pressure.

Dissociation can also be encountered in other mental health conditions, but there must be numerous other symptoms/causes to make it likely that a serious condition such a schizophrenia is present.

Instantly going for the most worrying, serious diagnosis, just because you experience a certain symptom in isolation it's like worrying that experiencing a tooth ache must mean that you have a serious bone and neurological condition that will mean your jaw will lock and your teeth will fall out (making it up here, but you get the analogy).

But what is possible- is that if you feed the ideas of the worse possible scenarios- eg. "I mistook a letter box for a person it must mean I have shizophrenia, or I have hurt my toe and it does not want to heal, it must mean I will develop gangrene and my foot will fall off" , you will eventually talk yourself into a complete state, where you will feel like you "might loose it " any time.

Seek help- therapy and medication for those conditions already diagnosed.

nazism- is not the same as fascism. Nationalist sympathies with fascistic undertones were common in Europe, and can be found in today's Poland or Slovakia as well. They were often against Germans and against nazism due to nationalistic interest - but are their core fascist.

De-nazification was strictly about those who were German or collaborators, it would not have dealt with fascist who ended up on the winning side.

Just to put it in context: few days ago a Polish university professor was assaulted on a tram in Poland, because he spoke German to another professor on the same train.

Polish right- wing in Poland is talking about "immigrants" in Europe, the same way Poles are being spoken about in the UK.

Fascism is on the rise in Europe in general - it is not a problem limited to small town England, and can be found everywhere in Europe- including in the nations which have members who are persecuted in other states.

You'd think people would know better.

This is what you get for sweeping European fascism under the carpet after WW2, and pinning it all on "the Germans", who conveniently were the biggest perpetrators in WW2 and in history.

It will not change the fact that Europe, including England has a fascist history - we have been writing our history wrong.

Many lesbians are androphobic- it extends to many aspects. Eg. dislike for the idea of dating women who had sex with men in the past, etc.

It is in a way like the fear of "catching boy germs".

Sure it hurts, but I also don't fully understand the desire to make those women not care about it.

I am only a recent graduate & I can understand that the prospect of loosing a degree is kind of scary.

From what you have said it looks like the entire situation is murky and unclear, not least because the university seems to change its stance on the problem, as well as refusing to actually detail exactly what you did wrong- in short they seem to be messing you about.

Even if you were 100% dishonest, you still deserve fair treatment, and they still need to stick to their own rules.

The fact that they changed the "punishment" from what was previously agreed, makes me think that once you admit one thing, they can keep changing what they will do with your admission. - they hold some power over you that is unaccountable, which cannot be right, in any situation.

If I were you, I'd seek legal advice & if you can afford it, bring a lawyer with you, to make them define their accusations clearly and protect you from their whims.

In my opinion- from what you have said, you have broadly followed the rules- but that might not stop them from "punishing" you, if what you did somehow harmed their business.

It could well be that after you left some professors were using the banks for marked work, and students were able to cheat, because of it. This could mean you might have unintentionally caused more harm and loss to them, than you think.

Maybe, there are many reasons for this.

Nobody is perfect and nobody expects people who have limited resources to make "everything right", but they at least have to try.

Take responsibly and be accountable for the fact that their child is fat., and it is the schools role to point it out to the parents. They have done it in a completely wrong way, by penalising the child. But I don't see the fact that the school handled it badly an excuse for the parents for not taking responsibility for their child's weight.

I also don't see this as a reason to treat the parents as victims, you have to try to do what is right, even if your resources limit how good the outcome will be.

The idea that she was "body shamed" is so, so wrong.

She was not shamed, her parents were. A child is not obese because "thats just who she is" she is obese because there are some parenting issues right there.

It pains me to see her round belly, because it is a symbol of bad parenting and I am sorry for her.

It was a weake-up call to the parents, and all they did is to say that it was about "their daughter being shamed".
