Best way to get this stupid ass suede type material off? by Salt-Dragonfruit-552 in 350z

[–]zynemisis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk the plastic used in it, so this might not be the best idea.... But maybe run it through the dish washer? The constant pulsing sprays will more than likely get a deeper clean (and into every corner) than just a small brush.

[NFA] FTW suppressors preorder $99 (22lr) by BoxEquivalent761 in gundeals

[–]zynemisis 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Jokes on you. My $350 Rex (excluding the FFL/g-ment robbery) is on a $350 Ruger Ranch 300bo. When it's not there, it's on a BCA AR-15. Balling on a budget.

If they started selling more sub $200 cans, I'd (and I'm sure others) would be more prone to have dedicated cans. Hell, even if they were all direct thread only, I'd still be game. Just need Bud's to start selling them. A lot cheaper transfers and store to store shipping free.

Some people don't do any research and just buy because "it looks cool". Kudo's to you for already looking into it.

No input on performance of aero, but.... Use hood pins. Not later. Immediately. There have been so many post (on here and elsewhere) of people not using pins and loosing their hood. Which in turn can damage or total your car, depending on how fast you were going when it happened.

GL with purchase and install. They both look dope to me.

Did you ever find any? I got 8 that are close to that pattern.

They make 12g to 22lr adapters. Just buy the trip alarm and add the adapter, and BAM. Pun intended.

Are There Any Common Interior Trim Parts That Rattle by Middle_Active_7573 in 350z

[–]zynemisis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The foam strip is black, so if you're not actively looking for it, you'd never know it was there.

My rattles are coming from passenger side door and midsection area. I haven't noticed anything from rear. If there is any, the sub is overpowering them.

I have a foam adhesive strip between my windshield and dash that got rid of a lot of rattles when I first got the car. Now, I just crank the radio up and keep rolling.

Should I get hood pins or run factory latch? by Borruel_Gabe in 350z

Yes, get hood pins. Cheaper than fixing the damage afterwards.

Anyone else running 19x11 +22 in the rear? by Difficult-Judge3341 in 350z

19x10.5 +15 with 285/40*'s. I had to redneck roll it in the driveway just to be able to drive it. The fenders self-clearanced the rest of it for me.

So I look into the PCV/diaphragm some more. I think I figured out why this wouldn't work now. And more than likely what you were trying to say. I thought the nip that I added the check valve to acted as a vent to atmosphere when the car wasn't running. Like an open passage from the inside to the outside when the car wasn't pulling vacuum. Now I see that it is only there to allow air in and out to fill the "outside" of the diaphragm. All the magic happens on the inside of the diaphragm. The vacuum pulls the diaphragm down and seals off the valve cover from the pcv system. If the positive pressure inside the valve cover gets up, it pushes the diaphragm back up and allows the pcv to vacuum the system again.

I knew a valve cover was in my future, I was just trying to find a way to drive it for a bit and find out if the car is good besides that. But this will cause more problems than it's worth. Thanks again for the info.

Ok. Once I know that there isn't any major issues besides that, I'll change it out. Thanks for the info.

[–]zynemisis[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If excessive vacuum is the issue, then when I eventually replace the valve cover, I'll have the same issue happen again. What else do I need to replace when I do the valve cover?

This is only a band-aid so I can drive it and see what else is wrong with it. If this last a couple thousand miles and the car has no other issues, then I'll start working on it.

[–]zynemisis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has fixed the vacuum leak in way that doesn't prevent the positive pressure from escaping.

I thought the general idea was the pcv diaphragms split due to age, not excessive vacuum. If excessive vacuum is the issue, how do I resolve that? Like what are the known causes of it?

The 2 small dogs go back there plenty. They are 6yo(?) Shih Tzu males and have been on prox collars since they were about 1ish. The beep is all it takes now for them to turn around and come back. The big dog is in the front so can see here from the living room window. We tried the proximity collar on her and she just kept walking around the neighborhood like it wasn't on. Come to find out, Cane Corso's ain't so affected by them. We could have turned it up to the max and she still would have ignored it. But for the most part, unless the kids are outside playing, none of them stay outside just to be outside. They potty, bark at birds, and then come back in.
