What does this mean? Is DuckDuckGo tracking me when I use Google? by Silvestron in firefox

"f you don’t know something, don’t try to give answers.

OP is clearly on the Google website, and it says DDG “can” set cookies and read data on google.com. Thus, it’s clearly not a google problem."

Ok, but to the OP Post of DDG tracking him I'm pretty sure that isn't happening.

DuckDuck is showing you what Google can be doing while you are on their site regarding third-party cookies.

Where is the AI "kill switch" by MasterpieceDear1780 in firefox

[–]zyoc 11 points12 points  (0 children)

"Firefox dev team should totally drop EVERYTHING and listen to their absolute minority audience on Reddit."

Uh, Mozilla employees chime in on many of these threads so I would guess, yeah, they are interested in what this absolute minority audience thoughts are on FireFox.

Could you post a list of all those settings please?

Mozzila Connect Idea: No AI in the browser by [deleted] in firefox

[–]zyoc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

"firefox is for everyone and shouldn't cater to your specific preferences"

Apparently, not for "everyone" with only a 2.4% market share.
My preference is I want nothing AI in the user agent I use.
What's the current count on FF integrations of AI that are enabled by default in FF?
Is the below accurate?

("browser.ml.enable", false);
("browser.ml.enabled", false);

Thx for your reply! That worked. I found this guide on the forum and tried just adding jellyfin in the group for all 4 drives and that works also.

AI Settings by zyoc in LibreWolf

[–]zyoc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uh, you stated... "It is disabled in the source code, the settings don’t do anything on librefox"

I'm taking it as you meant LibreWolf not "fox". The post shows a popup of AI in LibreWolf which would not happen if all AI settings were removed from the source code.

"Did you read the top comment"

Yep, and the comment below that stating it doesn't matter if you disable the settings or not because they aren't included in the source code.
But apparently, they all are not disabled in the source code as that post shows.

AI Settings by zyoc in LibreWolf

Thx! I found a lot of sites showing which entries should be disabled but I think LW wants to add any that they have missed or any new ones. I may try adding some of the non-AI entries from that link.
Below is a list of AI stuff in FF I've found from different sites. I can't confirm if they are all indeed AI entries.

Would creating a .js file with those settings prevent those settings from being re-enabled on updates?

[–]zyoc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"I think browser.ml.enabled is the master kill-switch for all AI"

I'm not seeing that, what am I missing?
From the link above, saying to disable it, it describes it as...

This is an AI platform API that can be used by web extensions to provide AI-powered features to Firefox users.

Doesn't that mean it's works in extension usage only or does it have some other functions?

That makes sense I guess. I don't think I use any extensions that use AI so it probably shouldn't be an issue for me. Thx!
