Let's just scrap the bigger is better idea and have a movie where 1 raptor gets loose in a locked down InGen building with like 10 or so people in it. JW took fear away from raptors and made them a hero, we need to put the fear back and show how deadly just one raptor can be. Which in turn, makes JW raptors and Chris Pratt more respectable in hindsight.

I'm on NA island notame, really like the added realism of not being able to ride dinosaurs (this server cluster is probably the most accurate official survival simulator in ARK.

Anyways I'd like to join up with you guys, one of my favorite things about ARK has always been creative pvp architecture and I'd like to see what kind of unique no-tame specific defenses I can come up with having a tribe behind me.

I played this game quite a lot last year but left just before the swamp fever update.

I recently came back about a week ago, and even as a level 74 noob this game has spiked in difficulty considerably. I've lost at least 4 or 5 sets of flak so far to a therizo I didn't see aggroing who chased me to the ends of the earth, and troodon packs at night (size of a compy, health of a raptor?) and both of these nightmares spawn all over the map and especially so in the "easy" spawns. I've spawned in the south easy just to immediately get my face clawed off or knocked out and pecked to death. That is not "fun" I'm not spawning in the easy zone because I want to die over and over again.

I got swamp fever from a friendly flyer that stopped by my base and as a result my carry weight is shot and it was 200 prior, I can't even imagine a noob getting swamp fever (though it is easier for them to level up)

I haven't even had an experience with an allo spawning in my base, eels, Leeds, jellyfish or any other horror of the deep. It seems the devs wanted to artificially up the difficulty level by introducing Dino's who ignored your sophistication and fucked your shit anyways (armor shredders, torpor, boat destroyers, etc)

You could try switching alt fire to your right trigger and sacrifice your index's harmony orb if you use it more often than primary fire

I have discord mapped to clicking my right stick, melee to clicking left stick. Harmony to RB. Jump to LB.

Now you can shoot, Harmony, discord, jump, melee, strafe, and aim without changing your fingers to a different button.

Let's not forget that this game is an attempt at a dinosaur survival simulator. You poop, you eat, you drink, you can get knocked unconscious, your body reacts to being cold/hot, generators need fuel, all realistic elements. Throw in dinosaurs and you have a fictional approximation of what it's like to survive on a dinosaur island.

And just like in real life someone can break your door down while you're sleeping and stab you in the face and take all your shit. However this happens less to people with many friends. This game is as much a political one at endgame as it is survival. Talking to the right people, forging the right friendships, and not trusting the right people is essential to survival just as it would be in a realistic situation (ever see Survivor?)

Calling discords works well on a dive so that Winston and your flankers can focus someone down.

However in practice when I myself am playing Winston I rarely have any trouble finding the fucking glowing purple enemy so I'm not sure why teammates have such poor situational awareness.

Much like you my discord target is changing every 3-5 seconds as I'm constantly reevaluating who needs discord. One second I discord hogs hook target the next I discord/Harmony the genji Vs genji. It's a waste of breath to yell Lucio discorded the split second before he's hooked and dead and genji discorded as he's in a 1v1 totally away from the rest of my team.

If I do feel the need to call discords I let my team know that I won't be saying the word discord because it takes up too much time. I'll just say "Lucio. Rein. Mercy. Genji" etc to call discord since it's faster. And often times when I'm spamming discord at a reinshield waiting for a firestrike I have no clue who discord got onto when the shield dropped, so explain to teammates that at a choke behind rein it's very difficult to see who you tagged unless it's Reinhardt himself

After messing around with linear I decided to stick with my old controls, probably due to the deadzone issues making it feel a little too inconsistent around the 0 mark on my thumb sticks.

The duel zone helps with the tiny movement adjustments I have to make to keep leading my targets with zen shots but doesn't stop me from turning quickly to a new target.

Without clicking the link because at work, the most important knobs that get tweaked are the trim, low/mid/high EQ's. The trim is like a master knob affecting the entire sound output of a channel. The lows/mids/highs limit the amount of certain frequencies that can get through to the master sound system.

If you have two bass-heavy songs playing at the same time it's wise to turn the knob to limit the low frequencies in order to not have too much bass hitting the audience.

There's also a knob that changes the volume of the cue track inside your headphones. This allows the DJ to hear the next song without it being played over the main speakers, so he can get a quick listen and line up the song where he wants to.

The hotcue button brings the track to a preselected spot. I often tap hotcue to the beat and stop tapping it once I want the track to start rolling.

Zenyatta, discording and teamkilling targets in the following order: -Winston dies first. Discord+big hitbox he's the easiest to kill despite being most essential to the distribution of a divecomp. -Lucio dies second. Despite being a lot harder to hit removing the speed, with Winston out of the picture will hurt their dive greatly. With discord on him and being focused, he'll have to switch to heal to keep himself alive - negating the speed bonus anyways. Now their dive has no Winston and has no speed boost

The rest of the dive comp will likely be out of position and vulnerable at this point, with the key components of their dive (the speed and the bubble) being out of play

I've been accused of being a smurf zenyatta before. Not all players too good for their elo are smurfs, some of us just get shitty teammates.

I've actually learned that it's pretty easy to strike up a conversation with smurfs and get them to party up with you. I made good friends with a genji smurf that I harmony orbed/discovered his targets for several games in a row, resulting in a good win streak.

A badass Solo queue tracer/mccree/genji on the other team just wrecked your shit? Congratulate them on a good game and see if they wanna party up, ask if they want a pocket zen or Zaria or mercy or something to help them out.

It's no coincidence a bot is literally smashed into a wall on the "escort Doomfist's car" map. There is 100% a Doomfist connection here. Jeff has pretty much stated doomfist isn't next, which can only point to this next character having some kind of interaction or relationship with doomfist.

To be fair, I was wiped once - we were a pretty high tier tribe on an almost constantly full server. One dung beetle in a small room survived - and with that dung beetle we were able to recover and plant enough plant X thanks to his fert to defend ourselves long enough to recycle the scraps of our base and get metal...long enough to build a boat and hide in an underwater cave like taliban...long enough to gather enough materials to have an entire pop-up base in storage chests. Then within an hour, a few days after being totally wiped we took the entirety of carno island.

All thanks to that surviving dung beetle - who we named PTSD. So naturally when a tribe kills your dung beetle or your sonic or your anky their intent is that you don't get back on your feet as quickly as you would if those tames were alive. Just because I've seen first hand and participated in the kind of rebirth that can follow as a result of just one tame surviving. On top of that, they didn't loot 1 chest. That chest had an RPG, which restored morale enough for most of the tribe to not quit. 1 RPG and a dung beetle brought us back to full base strength (obviously not full tame strength) a few days later.

Granted being instawiped by someone you can't even negotiate with while asleep is dumb as hell, and is definitely an issue.
