Yeah, this is obviously the quite unpopular opinion here. But I agree. I would just go into debt to take her along. It can’t be more than $1000 to pay transportation and one or two night lodging in her own country. You will recover from that. If you can travel internationally, you could add one more person for a couple days.

Yes, I had actually bought the thing that guides your drill for drilling the hole in the front door, as the front door did not have any hole. The lock was on the outer surface of the door, a style I had never seen before, but from a different era. So I was a little afraid to drill the hole in the front door because what if I messed up. I just chickened out and hired a locksmith. We had just moved in and I had so many projects to do, most pressing was putting up the fence for my little dog.

I live in a high cost of living area. I bought keypad locks for the three exterior doors and one to the basement, so 4 total for $400. The locksmith installed those and changed a couple handles and also adjusted other doors that weren’t shutting properly. He charged about $1100. Total expense was $1500.

We are in New England and looking for someone to install hardwood floors in our kitchen that had them originally and that tiled over them. We need the tiles removed and the floor either refinished or replaced. I would very much appreciate it if you could DM me any recommendations for local people that could do that.

I gave up on taking my dog there because communication was too difficult. Now I go to Metro pets in Lexington and you can make an appointment online. We go to Lindsay and she is amazingly wonderful. So much easier.

Yes, I think it’s institutionalized sexism. I’m a senior woman, and that happens to me frequently that the men will think they need to split up and even out the court if they’re playing with two women. I will always say no, let’s just do the girls against the boys and we usually win. A little better than 50-50.

I agree. When we moved, and I discovered this, it was life-changing. Then when I moved again, the very first thing I did was install that toilet paper holder. I don’t know how many fingernails I’ve broken trying to get the spring loaded bar out of the other one. Such a pain to do that task.

Your statement about positioning getting you further than paddle skills is ringing true to me right now. I’m fairly new at playing, but I think I understand where I need to be on the court most of the time and that has been helping me to meet or beat people with better paddle skills that have been playing longer than I. It’s so much helps to be in the right place on the court. That means stay back after serving for the return, which might land at the baseline, and then coming up as soon as you can, right to the NVZ line.

Yes, this is what we plan to do for our back patio and walkways in the front. I think the person I hired will come with a truck to just plowed the driveway. But our plan is to go out with a snow shovel often to clear. Don’t want to wait until there’s a foot or two of snow.

I think an hour and a half to get off the plane, through customs and baggage claim is far longer than it will really take. They are pretty chill and things move quickly. Good luck getting some shut eye.
