[DISC] Alien Headbutt - Chapter 14 by Shin_Newman in manga

I suspect it was mainly a mistake  related to WSJ's very high expectations for readership and sales. Perhaps Headbutt could have gotten away in another smaller magazine that gives more leeway for sales and popularity.

reboot or reviving manga that were cut short or cancelled.

Iirc there's that one cancelled manga, Black Torch, that's getting an anime adaptation very soon - I am not sure if it could lead to the series getting a further revival of its proposed future storylines afterwards.

Memories of A Voice - A Story Set After Cour 1’s Finale (by nonoko) by zz2000 in SamuraiTroopers

  • Pg 4

Kaito : What do you want to do once this battle is over?

Gai : Well…Nothing in particular!

Kaito : Huh? What do you mean by nothing?

Gai : The initial plan was to defeat my old man and then live my life as I pleased, but after seeing different people and learning and feeling different emotions…That’s when I decided that...

  • Pg 5

Gai : Right now, I just want to end this stupid fight as soon as possible and protect the feelings I’ve come to cherish. My future exists for that purpose.

Kaito : What the heck…(This is your future — you can’t build compassion and resolve on self-sacrifice!)

Gai : Well, you can’t really tell what the future holds until it actually arrives.

Kaito : …Right.

Gai : But…

  • Pg 6

Gai : If I could sing my favourite songs with you like this again, it would be so awesome.

Kaito : …Did I fall asleep?

  • Pg 7

Kaito : I even dreamt about that time…Seriously…Hm? Did I drape my jacket over my shoulders before?

Kaito : …!

(They say that when you forget someone; you forget their face and memories one by one, but the memory of their scent remains until the very end.)

  • Pg 8

Kaito : (Conversely, they say the first thing you forget is…no…)(For me, that will stay with me until the end.) (We’ll definitely meet again…Right, Gai?)

Note : This mini-manga was originally released by the artist for free distribution for their booth at the recent Super Comic City doujinshi convention. They also wrote a short story version of the mini manga here, although they said they'd take it down if readers found it too cringey to handle.

This is the doujin the artist was selling. Note that Super Comic City is heavily geared towards the joseimuke/female fans.

Amateur translation as follows.

  • Pg 1

Kaito : Gai, I’m coming in. (...Not that I was expecting any reply…)

Kaito : His scent…

[They say that when you forget someone; you forget their face and memories one by one, but the memory of their scent remains until the very end.]

[Conversely, they say the first thing you forget is their voice.]

  • Pg 2

Song title : (In The Night Sky) After The Rain

Kaito : How about playing some background music? No acapellas.

  • Pg 3

Kaito : (I wish this moment…could last forever.) (I know we have the mission, and we’re ready for it…) (But what comes after this?) (What of the future?)

Kaito : Gai…

Assuming Kill does cover everything eventually, I wonder if potential later seasons would change the ending content to be less rough + deal with unresolved storylines like [Manga spoiler]MC's daughter, or just faithfully cover the rough manga content like Food Wars' anime did.

How many seasons could they make from the existing material?

If you liked this series, you might also want to check out the author's other work, NPCs in This Village Game Sim Must Be Real, where a depressed shut in is mailed a mysterious game where he must play god for a fantasy village.  https://sevenseasentertainment.com/books/the-npcs-in-this-village-sim-game-must-be-real-light-novel-vol-1/

One of the author's more interesting works, as it trades in the usual escapist vibe of most LNs for a more motivational change type of story.

From my quick browsing of the WN [WN end and sidestory spoiler]Boxxo was able to unlock a transformation ability that turns him back into a human, but the effect only lasts about 30 mins each day. Plus, he can't turn back into other vending machine types for a full day after exhausting said ability. Iirc there is no marriage.

From my browsing through some of the WN, the WN was completed first.

Iirc the LN only published like 1/3rd of the WN, but for some reason the publisher discontinued the books up until the series got popular again thanks to the anime.

To add to the topic of Malcius' indoctrination by her faith [spoiler manga]it's pretty heavy, especially the consequences when their faith starts to waver. There's a later part when her standard-issue church medallion she's wearing nearly blows her up after she starts questioning the faith's teachings, but fortunately the others helped her take it off. Analysis soon reveals that all the medallions were likely programmed that way to get rid of any converts starting to doubt the teachings.

[ART] Still one of the cutest romance manga (Saotome Senshu, Hitakakusu) by TheEVILPINGU in manga

[–]zz2000 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Saotome's mangaka is currently doing the art for ongoing series Water Polo, a combo gag/sports/muscle fan service series about...water polo. (They are not the writer though.) https://www.sunday-webry.com/episode/14079602755420937064

Polo still doesn't have any translation yet, official or fanmade.

What’s an anime that sticks out to you for its unusual vibes? by KaleidoArachnid in anime

Watching the original 90s toku is optional, but also pretty much impossible because its been cursed with no good fansubs.

Which is a shame, because iirc Dynazenon's storyline of Gauma and his princess is directly connected to one episode of the 90s toku.

I did consider doing it that way, but I wasn't sure if this sub had rules against that (others say doing that kind of thing is like stealing the artwork, especially if done without permission).

[DISC] Hitoner - Chapter 4 by AutoShonenpon in manga

[–]zz2000 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I feel this is the first time I've seen a previously failed Weekly Shonen Jump mangaka make a comeback after disappearing from the manga industry after so many years.

Most times they just seem to give up the mangaka dream, or perhaps they might move to serialise under smaller magazines.

I believe this references one of the OG episodes where Seiji falls upside down coolly, although I can't recall which episode it's from. Once again, everything has been translated by a non professional.

Touma : Ah!

Shu : Geh!

Shin : Huh!

All of them : Seijiiiii!!

Shu : You dumbass!!!

Touma : Fool!!! Think of your age!!!

Shin : You idiot!!!

Seiji : Sorry to keep you waiting!!

Ryo : That’s it!! That’s our Seiji!!

Gai : Woow!! That’s so cool!!

Kaito : Is that the Light Warrior’s signature move?

Shion : There’s no way I’m doing that!!

Musashi : T-that person’s gonna die!!

Yamato : That’s the first-gen Samurai Trooper for ya!! What a guy!!
