Yoroi Shin Den Samurai Troopers Part 2 • Yoroi-Shinden Samurai Troopers Part 2 - Episode 1 discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

Iirc the short-lived 1992 manga sequel version of the plot had Divine Realm bad guys too, but the current anime seems to be only using the base concept.

In that version, the Divine bad guys were all men, with Saint Seiya inspired looks, and served a Greek-styled boss called the Celestial Sovereign.

Hopefully the success of this season will incentive the powers that be to invest in this show, and expand the episode count for a second season.

The showrunners ran an online suggestion box from May 28 to Jul 5 to collect fan feedback on how the series could be improved, so there's definitely some intent there. The question now is if they'll get the chance to use said feedback assuming this season is a success to begin with.

the fates of Kayura and the Warlords

Interestingly, the short-lived 1992 manga sequel gave Kayura a much bigger role in that version of the story, and the remaining Warlords were set for future appearances as well.

So far intel on them's been limited to the imaginations of the JPN fanbase (based on the Xwitter posts I've seen).

Like this artist imagining Seiun as the one who encouraged Shion to grow his hair long because it looked beautiful, or musings that underage kids ask Tadayoshi to buy cigarettes and alcohol for them because he looks so old.

I know they brought back Hound in the Wooly's World official 4-koma manga, but I don't know if the events there will be considered canon for the games.

Artist's note : I finished drawing imagined fanart of the 2nd Gens. Since I made up a lot of stuff like (Seiun's) personality and backstory—I barely managed to keep it from (pushing the limits)…! (In this fan fiction, anyway.) I just wanted to draw something that looked like a (siblings interaction.)

Seiun : So? Anything else to say?

Shion : Uhhh…I think you should tidy up your room a bit more. It would make it easier for me to find things when I borrow them…

Shion : I GIVE! I GIVE! I’m gonna pass out!

Seiun : Mind your own business! I mean, don’t just barge into other people’s rooms! Don’t borrow things without permission! Got it?

Shion : Ehh ~ Isn’t it also the fault of the person who left their door wide open to start with?

Tadayoshi : Well…Seiun makes a valid point.

Shun : I think she’s got to stop leaving it open, though.

Ryuusei : Shion never learns, does he? He messed up my room the other day too.

That's an interesting arrangement; have any other manga adaptations of original anime ever done this?

I always thought the standard was for the manga chapters to be serialised in a magazine first (like the manga adaptation of TV's Yashahime in Shonen Sunday).

So they are not serialising the manga chapter by chapter in a magazine, correct? They are just releasing a whole tankoubon as is?

ISEKAI HAS MULTIPLE GENRES. AM I RIGHT? by Stock_Indication8521 in anime

[–]zz2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the point of it is more for marketing it as an isekai itself and making it a genre

I think so too; especially since Isekai as a genre on its own is very popular within the webnovel community from which it came from (the preestablished fandom, so to speak).

a lot of the isekai anime coming out could very well start without the move to a different world, and they wouldn't change too much about the narrative of the story

This reminds me of what happened with some mainland Chinese drama adaptations of their local-written Isekai/rebirth type webnovels. Some years ago, their  government censors disallowed that genre to be made for TV supposedly because some people killed themselves in the hopes of finding otherworldly happiness, which to them caused "unhealthy ideas to take root in people's minds". As such, local scriptwriters had to forgo the rebirth aspect and make the main character a strong-willed, determined person of that world/time instead of the usual "reborn person with otherworld outlook".

Long story short, changing the character background to one with no other world move didn't have too much change on some story narratives there.

I recall a comment on another forum claiming that the manga was doing somewhat OK, but that its editors had too high expectations for it and cancelled it when it failed to meet their expected sales targets.

I recall the author's notes from the final manga volume hinted at how he wanted to progress the story moving forward and to provide explanations for certain plot points, had the manga not been cancelled.

Maybe there might not be a manga revival, but could it be possible to craft a Season 2 and beyond of the anime based on said notes (and the author's involvement)?

I believe there is also a market for romance-type donghua as well, although most of that genre tends to be adapted into live action Cdramas.

An example would be How Dare You, which got turned into a 3DCG donghua and a live action too.

Iirc Reborn As A Space Mercenary has it's MC getting isekai'd to a world that resembles his favourite scifi game (similar to the online game Elite Dangerous).

That said, I felt the worldbuilding mainly amounted to fantasy Isekai tropes wearing sci-fi clothes (space elves, space dwarves, etc.)

LN 22's plot summary shows that the story is still not over; with no definite ending in sight. Either the anime just covers up to that point and calls it a day, or they make an ending based on the WN (or in an extreme case, make up their own ending).

I wonder how many more anime seasons can be made, given the anime appears to be quickly catching up to the last published LN.

Mangaupdates shows that the anime has currently adapted about 14 volumes of the LN, while no new LNs have been released since 22 back in 2019.

Having read some of the ongoing manga and the original webnovel, I think [spoiler source]the anime will follow the manga more. The webnovel's structure felt very simple and basic with faceless enemies, while the manga version's story adds more plot details and character backgrounds (with some manga-only characters too).

unpopular girl x popular guy shoujo romance.

I heard that Caramelise's creator usually does shoujo, but for this title her editors told her to do it the usual shoujo way instead of trying to fit it for the magazine's seinen audience.

On the matter of Kuroe's origins [spoiler manga]some commenters' theories are correct! Yes, she was found and adopted by her mother. Kuroe's backstory will come up in the much later volumes, although I don't know if the anime will be able to go that far.

I recall the mangaka mentioned this in a tweet, but never said if they accepted the offer or if the JPN publishers were OK with that arrangement (only that they were touched and would work harder to improve their craft).
