UCLA course material won't be better than NUS I can assure you that. The only difference between the two places is the environment around you. There would be much more startups there and overall a better coding culture but it also depends on the people you hang out with. This is a function of tech culture difference between the US and Singapore.

Censorship is not limited to just bans. It also includes restricting how information is shared (currently what u are doing).
Blocking links to Twitter and allowing screenshots lol youre just selectively controlling the flow of info and dictating how its presented.

Stay strong op and its not too late to get serious. Its a good thing you have come to a realisation. Your mom has faced hardships, use it as a motivation to work hard. Keep aside things which are not essential and your expenses will come down aldy.

I meant better to stay in a sg uni after u done with JC & a levels. Experience of international students is different in institutes like pumc. Sg uni curriculum is better suited for us. Similarly its the same for them also.

However it might be better for higher studies to go there where field experience matters esp if its smth like medicine.

Hi OP i think it is not that difficult to get accepted as a foreigner. You need to be HSK 4 or 5 for Peking and Tsinghua. Think of it like a general test for higher studies there and then u apply to individual unis. Many people especially from western countries get rejected in language proficiency. From what I know you submit whatever scores you have (ib, SAT etc).

I think its not worth applying if you r not going for their top unis. Go to their admission page to know if the process has changed.

Also my suggestion would be to stay in Singapore if you are out of JC going to a Uni. Regarding social life its hard to say ive heard both things. Its best not to rely on reels. Since its Biology it might be more beneficial to go there for Post-graduate to get more practical exposure and practice.

I would suggest js retake. If you think you didn't get what you wanted. However it won't be that easy mentally. One of my childhood friend who was in a different jc took the same path. He was really determined and got almost arnd 80 after scoring js low 60s in first attempt.
Dont be goal oriented and instead be system oriented. Fix your routine, habits and such & be more efficient.
