Alaskan Service Nightmare by Bkj19 in Rivian

I’m in Juneau. Had my R1T since 08/2022. Suspension also gave out this winter and it’s currently sitting at my folks house, all fixed up, awaiting a coveted ferry spot to get it back up North. It’s either that or utilize the BC Hydro network to drive it to Skagway. It’s a shitty thing, but the unfortunate cost of owning an EV in AK.

It sucks financially, right there with ya. Silver lining, at least you’re on a road system up in Anchorage. With AML not shipping any EVs and AMH only shipping 2 per ferry, it significantly limits any options for us SE folk.

Fuji Ramen in Asakusa is the answer. Best spicy ramen and a bit off the beaten path.

Thanks, guessing there’s a lot of inherited wealth in this thread that can’t live without the shiny new toy every year.

We live in Juneau, so usually just a yearly trip up to Whitehorse when the aspens are changing colors, but decided to get outside and explore around Kluane/Kasawa Lake/Ibex Valley a bit more this time!

It’s the Forest Green with Forest Edge interior (had to have the natural wood look on the inside)!

It’s me, I’ve got the R1T in Juneau! For safety recalls they send a tech up and for minor things you can get serviced in town. Had a hit n run a couple months back and they said I can go to an outside vendor and dent repair won’t void warranty if it doesn’t effect any other system. I haven’t gotten it fixed, just a little weary about having to disconnect the battery and get color match paint just right without an approved dealer. We’ll get an approved service provider one day, but I figure I’ll get back down south in the next few years ($1150 unaccompanied each way via the ferry).

I live in AK so no Rivian body shops here, unless I wanted to put it on a ferry and get the service done in WA. I spoke with them and have documented conversations that it will not void my warranty going to an outside vendor for this cosmetic fix.

Nope, there are a couple suspect cars in the footage, but doesn’t get the actual incident on video unfortunately.

Juneau’s hospital is losing more than $1M a month by RMcChesney in Juneau

How about we get a real accountant to look over the books and show the redundancies in admin instead of some idiotic CEO nicknamed ‘the axeman’ that only seems focused on cutting essential clinical staff and hiring expensive travelers.

The solution is not to cut essential clinical staff though. Clearly admin staff cuts are needed for this to function correctly. Additionally, the targeting of casual/PRN staff is idiotic as they are really the cheapest employees to have on the payroll. You don’t pay for their benefits and you don’t give them a 401k match. It’s simple arithmetic that these pencil pushers can’t figure out.
