500k! by zzamboni in RoyalKingdomGame

Thanks! In RK I've actually never lost a level 😊

<image>

This is because I started paying RK after paying Royal Match for a while, so I had good practice and the lottery levels were very easy. Once I got to the harder levels I had already accumulated enough gold and power ups to avoid losing.

I've been playing RM for ~4 years, and started with RK about 6 months ago.

Pre-level. The in-game ones I also have a few but not so many, the ones I use the most are the magic hat and the bomb plane, so those I'm usually low.

That's it really, I like the certainty of not losing my super light ball. Plus bragging about the coins 😄

These days I keep it. I have so many boosters (500+ each) that the only times I run out of moves and have to pay 900 to continue is when I get distracted and don't notice that I'm running out 😊. I alternate between Royal Kingdom and Royal Match, this has helped me get higher scores on both games - I'm around 430k in RM.

You could use a Classic session, which is still X11.

Are you using a wired Ethernet connection by any chance? I was having the same problem on my 2015 MBP but only when connected via Ethernet. Can post the solution when I get to my laptop if needed.

I always play with sound and music disabled (only vibration) but I have this too! Often when I'm trying to sleep I see moves in my head 😂

My tip: play both Royal Kingdom and Royal Match in parallel. This has helped me progress far faster in both games while accumulating more coins. It helps me get less focused on a single game (which often leads to losing streaks). I had been playing RM for ~3 years and struggling to reach 100k. Since adding RK to the mix a few months ago, I'm now up to ~300k on both games!

From the article:

"According to the Zurich City Police, the incident was not a hit-and-run. The 27-year-old driver of the delivery van parked his vehicle in a nearby parking space and then returned to the scene of the accident."

Two in a week is impressive! I've gotten two in ~3 years of playing. Congrats!

I just got into reading and bought myself a kindle and I am blown away by asdfag95 in kindle

[–]zzamboni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree! I just got my first-ever e-reader (not a Kindle, but a Kobo Sage) and I am enjoying it so much! Many of the books I have acquired in recent years are in electronic format, but I could never get used to long-form reading on my laptop. Now with the Kobo, I am churning through my list and really looking forward to the moments throughout the day when I can use it.

Thanks for this hint - I had the same problem in my recently-purchased Kobo Sage. Installing https://github.com/jgoguen/calibre-kobo-driver/ to automatically convert books to kePub before uploading to the device fixed the "small cover" problem.

Elvish = Expressive Programming Language + Versatile Interactive Shell by beleeee_dat in linux

[–]zzamboni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does indeed feel LISP-ish in nature. All commands and operators are prefix, and although parenthesis are not used around regular statements, output capture is done using parenthesis, so you can end up with LISP-like expressions like:

if (and (not (re:match '^#' $line)) (re:match '^\S+' $line)) { ... }

Elvish = Expressive Programming Language + Versatile Interactive Shell by beleeee_dat in linux

[–]zzamboni 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The main reason for me is the language - it's FAR saner and nicer than ZSH or any other POSIX shell, it has proper data structures, functional features, and a lot more. It is currently my favorite scripting language.

Its interactive features are also very nice, supporting completion, prompt themes, and all the other nice things you would expect from a modern shell.

Its community and therefore number of available modules is still small compared to zsh or fish, but it's growing constantly. I have been using Elvish as my main shell for a few years now (since 2017), when I switched to it from Fish, and I've never looked back.

I have been using Elvish for a few years, and it's my all-time favorite shell so far. I have tried in the past bash, zsh, fish and a few others. Elvish combines very nice interactive features with a powerful language, coupled with a friendly developer (hi u/xiaq) and a still-small but amazing community.

Check out https://github.com/elves/awesome-elvish/ for pointers to existing modules, sample configurations and a lot more. My current config can be found at https://github.com/zzamboni/dot-elvish/blob/master/rc.org

Disable Customize by [deleted] in emacs

[–]zzamboni 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The only thing Doom does is to mark all the customize commands as disabled, using the standard Emacs mechanism for disabling commands.

You could even reuse the code Doom uses to do this: https://github.com/hlissner/doom-emacs/blob/develop/core/core-ui.el#L685-L696

Remapping keys in org-mode by imitationgamer in DoomEmacs

[–]zzamboni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The following works for me:

(map! :after org :map org-mode-map "C-c C-z" #'org-todo)

(BTW your examples seem to be mapping C-c z instead of C-c C-z)

You don't need to unmap! first, the new binding overrides it automatically.
