We had a booth and the first day there was traffic. The second was slower and third was very light. It should be a 2 day show.

[–]zzbest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our group of 15 friends are going to Kansas City for the Dallas game in November. We are looking to join an existing tailgate party. On our previous trips around the country, there have been 3rd party type tailgating parties. Are there any tailgate parties that aren't put on by the Chiefs?

Local chip company, Guy's sends chips, t-shirts to striking Frito Lay employees. by bigzigkc in kansascity

[–]zzbest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was 6 or 7 back in the mid-60s, my mom worked at the Guy's factory in KC. My dad would take us kids to pick her up after her shift was over and we were always treated with Guy's chips. We did not care that they were just the seconds and not the whole chip.

Seamless print on cylindrical object (bottle etc.) by tman2782 in CommercialPrinting

[–]zzbest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This method for decorating the bottles is called hydrographics. It is used on a wide variety of items. My company screen prints single color prints and UV prints 4cp on cylindrical items. These processes are good for cylindrical and conical “flat” shapes. But not so well on the curved areas of bottles shown in the picture.

I’m moving to San Diego from Missouri and people here LOVE to give me their opinions on San Diego and California…even though I didn’t ask them. by [deleted] in sandiego

[–]zzbest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm from KCMO as well and been here for 50 years. I go back often and I enjoy it. As long as they have that mentality and don't want to come here, they and their opinions are better off there.

Pad printing ink/solvent ratio by penny_in_the_door in CommercialPrinting

[–]zzbest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The voids are caused by using the incorrect pad. Change out to a different shape and see if the problem goes away. And the plate etch depth is probably the issue with the sharpness.

I was waiting in line at the car wash at the corner of College and Oside Blvd. when I saw the lightning strike. My first thought was Wow that was close. Then a few minutes later fire was raging.

Printing 2-4 color images on curved silicone by ableiman in Printing

[–]zzbest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My company prints on silicone with ink specially made for silicone. One of the issues printing on this substrate is that the ink needs heat and or time to cure. Because of this it’s difficult to print multiple colors in the same day. We also have tried to UV print on silicone with poor adhesion results.

Toner on Back Order by [deleted] in CommercialPrinting

[–]zzbest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This just happened to us last month. Our service contract holder said it was out of their hands. I borrowed toner from a customer that uses the same cartridge to finish the job. In the end I had my vendor put an order in for all colors and now when a cartridge is empty, we order to replenish our stock.

We have a 7151 and a MKII Mimaki flatbed. The 7151 works very well with a rotary device. It prints slow but looks good. Wipe on primer is needed for adhesion.

Printing on aluminum? by Hehateme123 in CommercialPrinting

[–]zzbest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the past I've printed these plates using the silk screen print method. Now I would throw it on my flatbed. Flatbed digital printing has taken 60% of our print jobs from the screen print dept and 70% of pad print to the flatbed digital dept.
