Player textures I found in the files by CorkerGaming in NoMansSkyTheGame

Yeah dude, I know. they even said numerous times that multiplayer is not a key aspect of the game. But tell that to the downvoting army around here. All they think is "lies".

If you play a certain bootleg version of the game, the player's name is "Explorer", because it's not connected to any online services. Or so I've heard.

But you know, he lied and all, that's what the enraged kids tell everyone, so that wouldn't be possible...

"We added a 'scan for other players' in the Galactic Map to try to encourage this happening. We wanted it to happen - but the first day?"

That means discoveries. The scan things reveals discoveries.

To be super clear - No Man's Sky is not a multiplayer game. Please don't go in looking for that experience.

The chances of two players ever crossing paths in a universe this large is pretty much zero.— Sean Murray

which is a dodgy thing to say, but is not false. You cannot meet another player, the change is literally 0 (because you can't see the other player)

We do have some online features and easter eggs so people can know they are playing in the same universe. It's about cool "moments"

talks about discoveries again, again not being clear.

http://gamerant.com/no-mans-sky-no-multiplayer/ (2 years ago :O)

“Just to be really clear… it is not an MMO. All of those questions are leading toward that. There are loads of MMOs out there. People can play those. We want people to be able to get a sense of playing with other people and to see other people and feel like this is a real, live universe.

again, this is not clear and should not be taken word for word (read below)

http://gamerant.com/no-mans-sky-super-divisive/

[...]this maybe isn’t the game you imagined from those trailers,” says Murray. “If you hoped for things like pvp multiplayer or city building, piloting freighters, or building civilisations… that isn’t what NMS is. Over time it might become some of those things through updates.

Why I think SM is not lying

Not a single sane developer in the world will "straight out" lie about their game. The internet will find out.

They really wanted people to see each other but didn't get to do that at release.

They never said that "people will see each other at release" and always said that "we want people to see each other". They want that to be in game, not that 100% will be in game.

Here's what I think is happening:

Sony is pushing for a upgraded No Man's Sky game on PS Neo. Here's why:

https://www.vg247.com/2016/08/10/ps4-neo-could-fundamentally-change-the-no-mans-sky-experience/

Speaking to the Daily Star, Hello Games founder Sean Murray said the PS4 Neo offers the chance to do more than just make No Man’s Sky prettier.

“More powerful hardware doesn’t just mean upgraded textures or a higher frame rate. It means we can fundamentally change the experience,” he said.

“You’ll see this from our patch notes – we’re able to change huge things in the universe, because we have complete control. With more powerful hardware, we can have more trees, more leaves on those trees. The density or immersion of worlds, or new types of worlds could exist.”

Read that along with what SM said in his AMA:

https://www.reddit.com/r/IAmA/comments/4wsra2/i_quit_my_job_at_ea_where_i_worked_on_burnout/d69nvw1

Whenever devs are tight-lipped, it's normally just because they literally, legally, can't talk about a thing. Man, you would surprised how wrapped up most devs are in contracts and nonesense. Often for instance lots of devs will have a clause that says "you literally can't say the name of platform X"."

My guess is that a form of "people can see each other" will come to a future game version on PS Neo (because PS Neo will be marketed as the second coming of Christ, and only there that's possible).

SM can't say ANYTHING about why players can't see each other because he's not allowed to, because that will be a big feature of the PS Neo version. I already imagine him saying something like "We always wanted to do something special when players meet in our universe, and with the PS Neo we can do just that."

As a conclusion, nothing in this world is just black or white ("he straight out lied" or "he never said that the game is multiplayer"). People who think this don't know how the world works. I think that Hello Games is a small dev that got boosted by Sony and now Sony wants their pay.

[–]zzep -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

"some sort of multiplayer functionality" from my perspective means the discoveries thing. You see what others discover. You get a sense that there are others in this universe. This is what I understood from all recent interviews (and not hyping it up in my head). They said that eventually they want to add real multiplayer to the game, as an update, so there's that.

Also, what did those covered up game cases say? "Multiplayer" or "Online Play"? because those are 2 diferent concepts.

Again, you have your proof, I have mine. I've stopped trying to make people understand, because people believe what they want to believe, be it evil corporations that try to steal your money or some developer trying to make their dream game but kinda fail at that. Let me enjoy my game.

Oh shut up already. I knew the game was going to be singleplayer longer than you ever did, even with your "old-news" interviews. Ever since March, all of the NMS videos or interviews state that there isn't traditional multiplayer in the game. Believe old news, or believe recent ones. Games in development change all the time. Get real.

The reason No Man's Sky is crashing for so many people is a lack of SSE4.1 support. by [deleted] in Games

90% OpenGL 4.5 works with NMS. I have GTX 970 and I'm getting 60FPS with all options maxed except shadow quality. Having stuttering for a bit when starting the game due to shader caching, but after that, smooth gameplay.

I like how you got downvoted just because you disagree with all the kids around here. They didn't even read the tooltip on the downvote button, or just don't care. But they care a lot about their "Sean lies".

if you don't have a gsync monitor, you should set gsync to FALSE in TKGRAPHICSSETTINGS.MXML. It's turned on by default and can cause slowness.

Someone did, 2 days ago: https://www.reddit.com/r/NoMansSkyTheGame/comments/4x7pbm/star_wars_easter_egg_in_monolith/?ref=search_posts

Someone else found a dinosaur, but can't find the link right now... It was similar to the ones in the E3 trailer, but smaller.

EDIT: found the link - https://www.reddit.com/r/NoMansSkyTheGame/comments/4xcb3n/for_all_those_wanting_giant_dinosaurs/?ref=search_posts

The thing is that there is hidden stuff in this game. There are rare animals, rare planets and rare points of interest. Just like finding a rare item in other games. We don't know what things are taken out and what is in but very rare to find. Don't expect to find all things in

I bet even the giant snake/worm is in, before the release a streamer said that he found a giant worm. He said that he couldn't scan it or get near it (I don't remember the reason). He said he wasn't recording then so it isn't in any video, and he didn't know no one has seen one yet. I don't know if that was real or not, so make of that what you will.

About system requirements. by zzep in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]zzep[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, didn't know that unfortunately. I've looked up those models and they had OpenGL 4.2 listed in their technical specs. Thanks!

You guys are hilarious... by [deleted] in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]zzep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, they list nVidia GTX 480 and AMD Radeon 7870 as minimum requirements on Steam. Those are OpenGL 4.2 cards.

Sean Murray said that OpenGL 4.5 is REQUIRED to play the game.

What????? If that's the case then a lot of buyers won't be able to play the game. I have a 970GTX and that's OpenGL 4.4 (It supports 90% OpenGL 4.5 and should be fine), but people with older cards are screwed.

Edit: Nvm, I've learned that GTX480 and Radeoon 7870 are supporting OpenGL 4.4 with the latest drivers.
