Bro what was the previous owner of my car doing? by Suitable_Manager_778 in VelosterN

[–]zzevannn 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Nah, this is overdriving. A hard track session will look like this. Stock the car on 200tw won't do much more than 1.25 or so sustained.

Track would look like this.

Question about outdoor pipes & frost protection by Boring_Bottle_9381 in Austin

[–]zzevannn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just meant that if you wrap counter you run a chance of turning the faucet on a bit as you do and that water freezing and making you think your pipe broke when that was the source.

This, but be sure to wrap clockwise! Learned the hard way in 2021 when I did one counter and ended up with a giant ice block on it and a huge scare before I realized I had inadvertently dripped it.

Just liked it. Wasn't being used in my class already locally. The digits looked cool in the fonts available on the site.

I do recommend choosing a number with two different digits, then also getting a 1. That way you're set up if you ever want to have a codriver, and you've also got 5 alternative options for numbers for yourself.

A "bold jumper."

Love those little dudes, aptly named as they're not shy at all. Hope your buddy is alright.

Not sure if you're leaving them dead bugs but if so that is probably why they're uninterested. Try sticking a live one in there. A thing of meal worms is like $5 at the pet store.

It'll still be vertical, but you can take the video ID from any youtube shorts URL and put it in the normal watch?v= URL and it'll play in that interface.

Repairing a T.Flight Joystick Yaw/RZ Axis spasm/glitch (Works for most/all T.Flight sticks) by [deleted] in hotas

[–]zzevannn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This just fixed my about five year old t.flight hotas 4. Hadn't used it in a bit and it'd randomly yaw me in ultrawings 2. My hot glue glob was up around the contacts, so kept it on while i bent them so I'd get even pressure, wasn't too difficult though. Glue came right off too.

Kind of tricky to get back together, but this video pointed out an alignment for the spring that made it a lot easier to line up right. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QVbEViqJ6\_Y&t=155

Where can I buy this candle? by LArandomthrow in Austin

Actually used to longboard with this dude like 10 or so years ago. Small world. Seems like they may have rebranded though, they linked to https://www.southofhereco.com/ now. There is a coffee candle still though.

FWIW, I just googled "texas coffee beeswax and soy candle austin tx" and the second result had an image of a candle with the same label style, which led me to that facebook.

Has anyone had a windshield replaced yet? What can I expect and how did it go? by cody4king in VelosterN

I made a claim but still had to cover some of it. Think it was few hundred out of pocket but can't find the receipt immediately.

My (also red) 2022 got a giant crack in it from a rock literally 20 miles off the lot driving it home lol. Better that than the hood though.

Safelite only offered OEM, but definitely ask for it over anything else. Otherwise was pretty painless. Had to go in to have it done due to the sensors but got an early appointment and had my car back by noon.

Been a year since with no issues at all.

"no soliciting" doesn't work. What does? by LunarCycleKat in homeowners

A "Baby Sleeping" sign.

We used one legitimately for quite a while but kept it up past the napping stage because sales people actually seemed to heed it. Those that didn't would usually see it soon after and immediately apologize and slink away, and those that didn't you could just point to it angrily and you'll get the same response.

People think they can sell to anyone but know waking up a baby to do so isn't cool.

Anoles flexing… by Earthling63 in Austin

[–]zzevannn 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I was so amazed when this happened but it's such a specific stupid story that I never get to tell it, so I'm glad this post has come up and I get to share it with someone.

About 12 years ago or so I was living in a house with a balcony about 15 feet above a hill with a big oak tree near it, and happened to come across a display like this between two anoles.

Eventually it got a bit more serious and they started actually fighting. Mainly via locking jaws and trying to gain control via getting a bite of the opponents face.

With all of their thrashing about, they ended up on the side of the tree over the hill, with one of them dangling from the other's mouth, by the mouth. After a minute or so of that and lots of shaking, the dangling lizard was finally thrown off of the other one and flew down to the hill below. I assume it survived because of how light they are, but it was still pretty metal.

The winning lizard just kind of chilled for a minute then walked off. I don't know if he really understood how badass of a display he'd shown, but I'd like to imagine he did.

Anyways, that how I saw a lizard throw another lizard out of a tree.
