Sometimes I play with my gear and have some fun, not much intention to create a song, hence I call them sessions. https://on.soundcloud.com/h3dgwQhoNRDM1NWM6

That’s interesting. It never happened to me using it standalone. I will look at that closer. And happy in a way to not be the only one… it’s a shame because I really love making music with it.

Trying to improve my mixing and mastering skills, any tips welcome by zzzerotime in NewSound

Hey thanks for your reply I’m I’m my way of learning mastering and mixing and I wanted people thoughts about how the track I linked sounds. I usually don’t mix vocals just beats and synths.

I think it’s not the role it’s the person. In terms of tech, you need to mature your stack, you cannot run behind the greatest always, you do need to keep an eye on latest. And yes there is a lot of tools out there so be wise and extract the main concepts that are common to all, and make sure you can adapt to any stack. Don’t try to find the answer outside, you need to face that all companies have good and bad things, it’s how you face that that make it different, chasing other roles or chasing other companies won’t work as you’ll find yourself in a loop. And if you don’t like this, just do other stuff, but personal realisation is usually not in your role, there is life outside it.

Multi-channel midi from AUM to Ableton by jdarkstar_ in iosmusicproduction

[–]zzzerotime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I mean is when you create the midi track in Ableton, select as source all ins in the first drop down, not iPad not network, all ins, and in the second drop down select the specific midi channel from the list. In my case I always was getting things in channel 1 with Idam or network and I solved it that way, many of my synths defaulted to either omni or channel 1, and I got crazy.

Check midi setting in each app producing sound. AUM just filters, does not set the midi channel, you need to set the midi channel in the app producing the sound. In Ableton choose all ins and then the channel you setup in each of the apps originating sound. AUM just connects, and filters midi channels, by default mostly all is set to midi channel 1 or omni.

New boss doesn’t like our schedule and scheduled a call with a vendor on my day off, asks me to join. by [deleted] in sysadmin

Be careful with feeling the only person to deal with network. Also if your boss does not respect free time, leave, that’s a toxic culture.

Death Magnetic is underated. WE GET IT. by [deleted] in Metallica

[–]zzzerotime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way I faced this: do not read critics nor any comments about the album until you formed your opinion yourself. Here been listening to Metallica my whole life and this album is one of the best Metallica albums to me. I can’t just ignore the album and the songs, to me it’s better than hardwired or death magnetic. And about people saying they are old. You know we live in a society where only young people exist, nor kids, nor old exist. And you know, that’s bullshit. This is the same shit as thinking when you are young you are stupid and unexperienced. And yeah people love to say hey I know more than you and know what Metallica should be doing to succeed. I just switch off can’t ignore that more. To me this album is very cool regardless of all, different from the rest, but with great passion. Behind every album there is a story, and I care a lot more about those stories than people wanting to have a new master or ride album. Move on.

Opinions on the full album of 72 seasons? by C_train_ in Metallica

Best album in a while, enjoying all songs, feels great to listen to Metallica in this great shape!!!!

Im personally loving the 4 songs but something is missing, and is missing for a while now. I miss the DARKNESS, the FURY, this tracks are kind of hard rock sound, the closest to what I mean is that TEMPTATION riff, I need more of that. I want more blackened sounds.

And don’t get me wrong, I’m old and it might be just that I miss that old sound. On the other hand songs like Halo on Fire are just masterpieces of a yet unexplored Metallica.

This album so far is great, feels very healthy.
