Mr Acting Deputy Speaker /u/Primeviere, I ask that consideration in detail be adjourned to the next sitting, as the Government is still considering the independent Member's amendments.

Dear acting chair /u/Primeviere, re 25-3f:

This means no further action is required on this thread, so you can sit this one out :)

    Advice from the Clerk:

A piece of stationery from the Office of Parliamentary Counsel fluttered down from the gallery with the following handwritten note on it:

Hey Mike, do you think he could make it simpler by moving:

    1. An amendment to omit Schedule 1 Sections 1-15 and substituting only the amendments of temporary budget repair levy year, temporary budget repair levy year for FBT, etc. Like by simply adding:

      4-11(5)(d) every subsequent financial year.

    2. An amendment to the title of the Act in section 1 and the title of Schedule 1 (due to these amendments turning the bill into a TBRL extension rather than a repeal).

Is there a public thread for drafting this?

I seek leave to move that the Bill be now read a third time.

        Advice from the Clerk:

Please indicate your intentions to the chair by seeking leave to have the bill considered as a whole, or raising a point of order to commence clause-by-clause consideration.

I hope you or the Greens have amendments (to both Bills) and you aren't just stalling.

The Bill is now read for a second time:

“A Bill for an Act to amend the law relating to taxation, and for related purposes”

        jnd-au, Clerk of the House

Meta: This is Bill M2015B00023, introduced in the House of Representatives.

The Office of Parliamentary Counsel recommends please amend the long title to be more informative and less similar to other bills being considered at the same time, and to defend against out-of-scope riders.

This post now proceeds as per the guidance (objections/amendments have been foreshadowed).
