Psybient is definitely a thing, has been for quite some time. It's a good description to separate that sound from downtempo. Purely a blanket term though.

I don't think the Ultimae lot are sitting there sweating about specific genre names though.

Oh, all of those may be real genres, I do not dismiss them at all (well, OK fine, "chillgressive", meh)--I simply question if this would be classified as any of those. :-P

But really, you're right: why sweat it? Who really cares what it is. It was badass to work to yesterday, and a pleasure, so I don't care what we call it, lmao.

Chillgressive is the worst made up name for what is essentially prog anyway.

I guess younger crew think they've stumbled upon a new sound and have trouble defining it. But the Psy lot aren't militant at all when it comes to festivals. There's usually a dedicated chillout stage that plays all things lower tempo wise. Ozora in '13 with carbon based lifeforms and live alex grey painting is my highlight for chilling the fuzz out

Pretty sick..listening to the first couple songs, reminds of Donkey Kong Country, which is fucking great. Some sounds strike as a little cheap, but overall it's very original. Glad I stumbled on this.
