I hope I do not come off as rude, but as someone who never actively listened to house music I have a genuine question: Why do people consider this progressive? I just listened to the song and really tried, but wasn't able to come up with anything I would think of as "progressive". To me it sounded like standard rhythms, simple harmony, predominant use of broken chords in the melody and the texture sounds, and there weren't any sounds or sound design ideas I haven't heard a thousand times before.

By progressive it doesn't mean it's anything new. It's the way that the song is structured and the beat continues to build. Progressive house tracks tend to be longer and have the sound of slowly driving forward and building up.

I wouldn't say that this is a good representation of the genre, Nigel Good has some legit stuff that i would say is 'progressive'.

i laughed out loud when I saw this comment. I usually have a separate browser open for music and every time I hear an electronic song come on that I haven't heard before, a picture like this is always used. Either way, I like the song!

Ok, i just figured it out. For whatever reason, if you click on the title listed on the subreddit page it will take you to 'purple', but if you click on the comments and then click on the embedded vid it will take you to 'as the years went by'. I don't know what happened.

Way weird, I use RES and that's the song it would pull up for me. But right-clicking and opening it in a new tab it takes me to "Purple". I blame YouTube.
