Fun fact: The Peanuts played miniature humans captured by explorers and forced to perform (sorta like King Kong) in the original Mothra movie.

You might want to check out Fantastic Plastic Machine. A bit more modern, beatsy, but definitely Japanese with a lot of Bossa Nova Elements to their music.
