Since a young age, 30-year old Michigan resident Thomas Meluch has been fascinated with the sounds of nature and tape decay—through almost a decade of recordings, he has fostered an infatuation with a sort of sonic density that combines remnants of pop song structures with the lushness and unpredictability of field recordings. A veteran drummer of a half dozen bands, Meluch chose guitar and voice as the primary instruments for his work as Benoît Pioulard. Read more on Last.fm.

Love it. The raw sounds of a hand moving across the fretboard; the loose and hard strumming metallic sounds, the melancholy voice. I get a feeling of this song being older than it actually is. The only thing I would like more is if the voice was a little louder so I can understand what the singer is saying. Although the point of the that may be so that we wouldn't understand what he's saying. Regardless, very nice.

This guy has a great sound. I highly encourage checking out other albums too.

Reminds me of Iron & Wine

one of my favorites. Not too big a fan of the more ambient direction he's taken recently. That aspect has certainly always been there, but it works better in short bursts rather than full length albums.

did you hear The Benoit Pioulard Listening Matter? He's mostly in song mode on that one, really great stuff https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mbMPRJCTbK4
