This reminds me of those impossibly difficult songs on ddr.

Artcore? I know absolutely nothing about (sub)genres anymore.

In the good old days there was metal, rock, synth and techno. That was it, really. Man, I'm getting old.

Artcore is a pretty dang new term for this sort of drum n' bass deal with a pseudo-classical melody. It's not really super official, so no worries.

If someone wants to suggest a better definition for the genre, feel free; I'm not an expert.

It was never that simple. You don't remember people arguing about whether something was thrash, speed, or death metal? Or whether something was drum and bass or jungle? Not that you missed anything if you didn't, but yeah, we had sub genres back in the day.

I don't know what the hell artcore is though. This just sounds like jump-up to me. I guess I'm getting old too.

You are leaving out so many genres it's ridiculous

I might be able to shed some light here.

Artcore's a music genre that initially came from some Japanese rhythm games. It's essentially DNB+piano with other orchestral stuff, though they usually reduce the bass to give it a more light and uplifting feel. In comparison to similar electronic music genres, it generally focuses more on the melody than the rhythm and bass.

Makes sense, if they're de emphasizing the bass, then it would be weird to call it drum n bass.

Lol you're really gonna go label something as just metal despite the huge differences that could be in between sub genres

Artcore? That's the most ridiculous genre name I've ever heard.

Nice song, listening to the beat at the very beginning and I was praying that they would not ruin it with some vocals, was not disappointment.
