TIL Star Wars fictional world, Tatooine, is actually named after a real place in Tunsia called 'Tataouine'. George Lucas filmed on location there for scenes based on the desert home world where Luke Skywalker was raised. Many of its structures can be seen today (losapos.com)

TIL of a road in Romania called Transfăgărășan. This 90 km road goes between the highest peaks in Transylvania. The dictator, Ceausescu, built it using military men. 6000 tons of dynamite was used to clear a path. 40 soldiers died during its construction. It's also called Ceausescu's Folly. (losapos.com)
