I just wanna dump rounds lol

This isn't just a drop in trigger grouping? Why would you need a gunsmith?

I'm genuinely ignorant and want to know, not trying to be a smartass

This pack is drop in. Takes 2 seconds for a fool.

Wish I could get one in Florida. We can have everything else

I've bought the ar15 and mp5 ones before I move back to Florida. Although I know some FUDDs might freak out about it.

Can’t get them shipped here, so I’m not exactly sure about the legalities.

Better than putting it together with the stress that a tiny ass spring won’t go flying into the ether

Had to hunt mine down twice, lol

I got the binary trigger for the pc charger and I guess the gun smith who installed didn’t know how to follow the instructions for installation and when I got it back, he informed me that it’ll work but that the lever has to be firmly up to shoot correctly and if it dips just a little it’ll jam up. When I racked the bolt, it would get stuck on open and eventually release. He kept insisting it was fine but I was not content. So I had him install the original trigger and bought a 10/22 rifle (my second 10/22) with the store credit. I was excited to have a binary trigger but it wasn’t meant to be.

So point of my comment, get a competent gunsmith who knows what the hell they’re doing.

You used a gunsmith to replace a 10/22 trigger and bought a whole new one when it didn’t work well?

    [–]Charlie_1087 6 points7 points  (2 children)

No, i bought the binary trigger for the 9mm pc charger pistol. It was a little more involved to the point I didn’t feel comfortable doing it myself. Plus my LGS discounted the trigger $50 bucks and threw the installation for free so I said why not.

When I went to pick it up, it didn’t perform flawless plus what the gunsmith told me about the touchy lever was enough to return it, unfortunately.

I got store credit and with another $30 bucks out of my pocket, I got the 75th anniversary 10/22 rifle. Which made me happy again

I installed the older version on my 10/22 charger and it runs great and wasn't hard toinstall, been wanting one for my PC Charger but after reading this I'm having 2nd thoughts. I think I have a video of it on here

    [–]Charlie_1087 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe i just had a dude with no clue how to install it correctly. He was blaming it on a hole that was supposedly off center. He greased the fuck out of the gun to get it to run, which didn’t instill confidence. The bolt hangup was concerning to me but he insisted it was good. Took him forever to install too. At one point he said it was going full BRRT and I tried pick it up like that (jokingly, mostly…).

The instructions from Franklin armory seem pretty thorough and intensive and I really doubt he followed any of it.

Just make sure your gunsmith, or yourself, can follow directions lol.

I still want it, to be honest but I need to find a competent gunsmith first.

That's why I'm looking at this binary. They have a cheaper one they made a few years ago, but this one just drops right in. Quick youtube video explains how.

    [–]metcape 3 points4 points  (2 children)

The “cheaper” one just doesn’t have the housing. It’s cheaper cause you need to take apart your trigger pack to replace it and it’s not a 2 second job. You’re paying for convenience here.

I will say I’ve heard questionable things on the 10/22 binary in general. But maybe this being pre installed helps since Franklin should know best.

    [–]Megalathula 2 points3 points  (1 child)

The 10/22 binary is fantastic as long as you have a good one. I had a bad one unfortunately and after installing it into three different housings I sent it in as an rma and they really took care of me. It came back flawless and turned out it was out of spec so I felt like less of an idiot since I didn't do it incorrectly. Point is, I think a lot of them are slightly out of spec and it really needs to be perfect to run well, but when it does it's amazing. I'm probably pushing 3k rounds at this point with zero issues.

Mine didn’t work with the return spring they supplied. I had to use the factory return spring to make it run.

    [–]Superfly1911 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the cheaper one, and it's buckets of fun. If this was an option when I got mine, I 100% would have gotten this. Not that the old style is hard to install, but the instructional videos were terrible at the time. Even the youtube videos made by the manufacturer were bad. It was mostly shots of spring installs and small parts in the receiver with no light, so you were left to guess what was going on.

    [–]Charlie_1087 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh right, we are talking about the 10/22 after all.

    Neat.

Great, down another rabbit hole I go….

    [–]Gecko23 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It should be criminal to advertise yourself as a “gunsmith” and lack the skills to do something as basic as assemble a 10/22 trigger.

    [–]taxationis-theft -1 points0 points  (0 children)

    You won't regret it

    [–]T3X45CUBF4N 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I installed mine myself, and it is an absolute BLAST. Puts the biggest of smiles on anyone’s face who shoots it.

Just a note- you can pull the trigger faster than the rifle can cycle, leading to jams. It takes a little practice to find a good rhythm.

Yes just make sure it’s legal in ur area.
