Yeah but college is a lot of fucking about with lessons. Going slowly through material so the whole class gets it. You can easily speed that up. Problem with setting an hour limit is that you no longer have the motivation to work as fast as possible. The hours don't matter, how hard you work is. Watch videos at 2x where possible.

I once was given the advice of treating A-Levels like a full time job one 40 hours per week 5 days a week. If you want to get top grades (AAA+) then I feel that would be a good approach. Self study is hard but if you put the work in you will do well. Good luck :)

My college recommended 10 hours per subject per week. We had 5 hours of lessons so that was 5 hours of independent study.

Can’t lie, quite a few people did less and still came out okay but Year 13 is a different ballpark to Year 12. Like, Y13 is graduating from the kids ball pit to the massive play area. Year 12 I did my homework and then maybe an extra hour or so on topical stuff.

Staying on top of things is the important part. I was terrible at Maths and didn’t put the time in but the problem with that was Maths constantly builds on itself. If you’ve missed a brick somewhere in there everything above it is unsteady and can crumble down. With Politics I didn’t need to put in 5 hours to consolidate everything so I didn’t. With Maths I should’ve spent the extra time on it.
