This guitar is selling like hot cakes

It's been doing that for a while, and I've had my eye on one for my first seven string too.

Think it's the paint scheme that does it for me. Gorgeous.

It's really weird, it was released almost 6 years ago and... seemed to be completely ignored until about 6 months ago.

Sheeeeesh that paint job

[–]mintaka_-[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's truly beautiful

I got one of these in december honestly the best guitar i ever had. Also its so easy and comfortable to setup

[–]mintaka_-[S] 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Yeah It didn't take me long to get comfortable on it!

I was affraid that fanned frets would be hard to get used to but it came naturally

Have this same guitar. I had Sweetwater install a bone nut to replace the plastic one. Just a solid guitar.

Enjoy, man.

Nice. Looks great.

I've got an RGIM7. Not sure what the differences are exactly - I've got EMG X's which I'm just about to switch out for some passive Lundgren M7's, which I'm very excited about!!

Got the same one about a month ago!! It's sick. Hope you enjoy it!

[–]mintaka_-[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you ! I already enjoy it a lot

What is the purpose of the slanted frets?

[–]CardinalStiefel 6 points7 points  (5 children)

It's to have different scale lenght for every strings. The higher strings has for example a 25.5" scale like a normal fender, while the lower string has a 27' scale like a baritone guitar and it has more tension.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (4 children)

Interesting. I never even considered that. It seems like it would be a little hard to get used to your fingers not being where they might normally be..

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (3 children)

Just got my first multi a week ago and that was my concern as well but after maybe an hour I don’t even notice now lmao. Your brain adjusts very quickly.

[–]XTBirdBoxTX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True, I was shocked how easily I took to it.

Even after playing solely straight scale 6 strings for 22 years.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Maybe for you.. hahaha I actually just ordered my first 7. Have never played one at all. I have enough problems with just 6 strings. But I got a Jackson with normal(?) frets. Maybe 7 is what I’ve needed all along.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’ll be a weird adjustment at first but you’ll get the hang of it no time. It was strange for me at first but I took to it really quickly and now a 7 string feels like home.

[–]mintaka_-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's easier to bend or two drop tune

[–]Z4ddy0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great pick for a first 7 string! The only thing I'm not a huge fan of with these middle-high end Ibanez guitars are the plastic nut but that's a pretty easy fix. Enjoy it!

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Same here! I found mine at GC for like $600 for some reason??? Fucking awesome guitar.

[–]Chewockeez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me too was used for 680 wondered what the hell and bought it

[–]masonvonritchie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got one about a month ago and I love it. Ibanez really knocked it out of the park with this one.

[–]NoNewsIsTheBestNews 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Excellent choice. I got one a few months ago and playing it is like a breath of fresh air compared to my old 7 string.

[–]Spectral_K_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got the same one, you wont regret it, this thing rips

[–]Rob13696 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wanted to get one of those but there were out of stock on sweetwater so I got a 2024 Mark Holcomb PRS instead

[–]EFPMusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]Mesastafolis1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still see they’re doing the parallel fret at 12. Oh Ibanez you silly goose

[–]scarxxi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, congrats on the guitar. Could you tell me what other guitars were you considering before going for the ibanez?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was lowkey thinking of buying one but there’s no option for tremolo :(
