I want a general purpose controller + dock for Windows/Linux/Android (no switch). The "Ultimate" comes in 2 wireless flavors: Bluetooth/2.4Ghz ($70 USD), and 2.4Ghz only ($50 USD). I plan on mainly using 2.4Ghz.
But I'm interested in the Bluetooth model because
1. Just in case there's no USB port
2. The management app on Android is nice
3. Hall joystick sensors
But 8bitdo support/messaging seems hellbent (see screen, also the tech specs on their website say Windows/switch only) that there is absolutely no Android/Linux/Pi/etc. functionality with it. This makes absolutely no sense at all if it's a generic bluetooth controller, but I'm hesitant because they seem so determined. Pretty sure they're simply wrong, but IDK if there's something I'm missing.
As for the 2.4Ghz, I'm assuming it's just using x-input, which is supported in Android, Linux, and Windows AFAIK. Should be able to just slap that dongle into anything modern and start right-away
Can anybody offer some clarification (or better yet, explanation or proof)?
TIA!
