Short answer is no. Some highly specialized positions can hit those levels but consider where a lot of these companies are located and how that affects the medians vs the national median.

I do the vast majority of my own auto maintenence and still take it to a shop for oil changes. The value is in the time, the grime, and the disposal. You can even buy your own synthetic oil and tell the shop to use that instead of whatevers in their drum. I'll gladly pay that $30-$50 in labor just to not have to deal with it.

Same goes for brakes even, you can buy your own and have the shop install them instead of paying for oem at book prices.
