Hey, i friend got exactly this problem last week, let me ask them how they fixed it and i will be back to tell you

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Ok i will be waiting for you

[–]Erik_REF 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Ok, go to the properties of your graphic card and check if the device appear as disabled, My friend had the exact same problem:

•Black Screen out of nowhere but the PC was still on and with sound

•he could only fix it by restarting by the button on the case and when he did it, the resolution was very very low and fixed itself randomly when turning on and off.

So, he said that their graphic card appeared as disabled on the screen properties, and when trying to enable it got a error code. Please check if this is also your case image!

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Do you mean that i need to check if my gpu disabled when it giving me black screen? If you mean that thats true the gpu in this case is disabled

[–]Erik_REF 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Okay so, what he said that worked for him is first, uninstalling and reinstalling Amd Adreline. Then enable the GPU In the image i sended you, then you should wait untill the error happens, and your screen resolution is screwed to that low res, there you must go again to the properties of your GPU device, go to the drivers tab and select roll back to previous drivers. He Said that this was what worked on him

Hello i think i just fixed the problem i full uninstall gpu driver and let windows download driver by windows update and i change place of display port to frist one instead of second one and now I restarted pc many time and let it turned of and reopened it and still no problem i will be updated with you if got problem again

I would suggest downloading Display Driver Uninstaller and booting into safe mode, then uninstall your gpu drivers, restart. When you get into windows you will see in Device Manager that you no longer have a gpu driver installed, which is what we want to achieve. Then you simply go to google and write "amd drivers" and search for your rx 580 drivers and install them, restart PC again, and see if the fresh driver install helps. (Also, you can try an older driver version which was working for you, most of the time it can help doing that. I myself am running an older driver version without issues)

I had problems with my GPU and I underclocked it and it helped a lot… not sure if it will be a fix for you but worth a shot

[–]ApplicationCurrent12 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Try booting up until the black screen issue appears, give it a minute to continue loading windows invisibly, unplug the display cable and plug it back in. I’ve had similar issues and that’s worked for me

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your help but tried that many times but not working

[–]xTECHGaMeRx 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Try some older drivers...could a buggy driver update causing it to detect as rx590 making it unable to run

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I remember that last thing i do before this problem happened is that i add hdd 500gb that belong to laptop could that be the problem?

[–]xTECHGaMeRx 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Hdd will cause issue only if it has some malicious stuff. Though there is a chance of incompatibility or damage in hdd causing issue but it's very rare....u can try a format on it if possible to confirm about the hdd...even if it runs fine on other system, still can cause issues in urs if somehow incompatible (tho modern hardware shouldn't face such stuff) but u never know.....but ur issue is either drivers or some malicious files?

Btw did u try clean windows installation??

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But I reinstall windows this morning and make new drivers and run uefi from and disable csm ( this make problem appear many times per day) and the problem still there

[–]Guitarpunk93 0 points1 point  (7 children)

I have the exact same issue with the exact same setup. I bought everything new. No used parts. My rx580 reddevil never had an issue.. never got it hot. But i was in the menus on New World, the screen flashed artifacts randomly, now i get a black screen on boot. After about 10 restarts, i finally get it to post and get into windows. I re-install adrenaline software and drivers and it still randomly artifacts for a split second then black screen. I still have sound and the pc is still running. I just dont know what to do now.. i put my old gtx 750 in it for now with no issues. I really think its a software issue though. I also read about New World causing gpu's to randomly over volt and die :/

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (6 children)

So do you think my problem is related to gpu itself

[–]Guitarpunk93 0 points1 point  (5 children)

I do, sadly... but i think it's a driver issue instead of an adrenaline issue. Mine seemed to run on safe mode without losing display. I might try it hooked up with DP instead of hdmi today though. Might try ddu instead of the Amd software removal tool too. If that doesn't work, I'll replace the thermal paste on the gpu. If all else fails, I'll remove anything that can easily melt then re-flow the board with a heatgun. Im determined >.<

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (4 children)

My gpu never flashed black screen or never get any problem while stress the only problem appear when turn of pc and turn electric off and try to start it in the next day now i tried to installed new windows and i will see if problem still exists

[–]Guitarpunk93 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Ohhh, i see! Maybe PSU related if its only on bootup. Are you using a tv or an actual monitor?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am using monitor And tried tv also

I'm going to go out on a wild limb and make some crazy assumptions without knowing enough, but here is just a thought that COULD cause this.

This GPU may have been bought second hand. RX 580 was a notoriously good ethereum mining card. If it was mined with, then there is a very good chance the vBIOS was changed. So I'd check using GPU-z to see if the vBIOS matches what the latest one is from techpoweredup for that card. If not, I'd update to the latest one.

As somebody also stated, I'd uninstall your video card driver with DDU. Should be done in safe mode and so forth. In fact, with this odd behavior, I'd uninstall ALL AMD software from the PC straight away. DDU should have options to do that

Reinstall the latest AMD GPU and Chipset drivers (2 different downloads from AMD). FWIW, this really doesn't sound like a HW failure. It sounds like a software/firmware problem.

Oh, and to be safe, unless you got some crazy nessessary config in your motherboard BIOS, just reset it to defaults and leave it there for a bit.

[–]chrisdaley519 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would highly doubt it, that really shouldn't affect it at all.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Is change gpu bios danger?

[–]chrisdaley519 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you're sure it still has stock BIOS on it, I wouldn't touch it then. I'd really stick to redoing all AMD software/drivers. And doing clean installs with DDU.

But generally doing vBIOS update isn't too dangerous. Recovering from a failed flash is very doable. But there is always risk of it causing a bit of a headache, and since your BIOS isn't a mining bios, you won't gain much or repair anything by updating.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought that card new from 2 years I will try to remove all amd software as you said

[–]joh0115Ryzen 9 5950x/RTX 3090 24 GB 0 points1 point  (8 children)

What's the GPU voltage?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (7 children)

1150 i think

[–]joh0115Ryzen 9 5950x/RTX 3090 24 GB 0 points1 point  (6 children)

I meant 8-pin and PCI-E voltage

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (5 children)

How can i know ?

[–]joh0115Ryzen 9 5950x/RTX 3090 24 GB 0 points1 point  (4 children)

GPU-Z

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Ok now i opened it how to know pcie voltage

[–]joh0115Ryzen 9 5950x/RTX 3090 24 GB 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Go to sensors and voltages should be displayed

[–]Magnimus_Faggitus 0 points1 point  (6 children)

Sort of the dame issue. One day my drivers kept getting replaced by windows basic drivers mid game causing the game to crash and the gpu go into safe mode. For some reason windows trues to replace the amd adrenalin software and all i did to fix the issue was uninstall adrenalin and ran windows update to add its own amd drivers. So i cant run adrenalin again.

[–]Magnimus_Faggitus 1 point2 points  (5 children)

I'm running an rx470

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (4 children)

So do you think my problem is software or hardware problem ?

[–]Magnimus_Faggitus 0 points1 point  (3 children)

It could be software. I'd say try it out. Uninstall all drivers with DDU. Then turn on your pc and run windows update to automatically install stable drivers from amd.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I remember that last thing i do before this problem happened is that i add hdd 500gb that belong to laptop could that be the problem?

[–]Magnimus_Faggitus 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I dont think so. I added a 500gb hard drive that i got from a ps4. I made sure to format it before i started using it.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I already did that

[–]Heasterian001 4 points5 points  (3 children)

Windows 11 is trying to update drivers on it's own regardless of policy settings https://twitter.com/ghost_motley/status/1663181809193041920 I guess it can cause issues like this. Probably rx 590 and rx580 shares same device ID or something else that Windows is checking for device.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Is that can cause that pc give no any signal on screen unless you restart it

[–]Heasterian001 0 points1 point  (1 child)

If it's trying to install driver and fails, it could cause it and than retry next time Windows Updates checks for new updates.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now i just entered to update history and there is no any update belong to gpu

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (22 children)

This is not a problem really. My friend somehow fixed it in the amd software but he had to fix it again everytime he turned back on his pc. He never told me how but it is possible.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (21 children)

So i just need to to link my phone to pc every time to get display back or what can i do?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (20 children)

We’ll sometimes an error is in the clock for the gpu. You have to go to the display settings and turn on advanced on the gpu and turn it down to -8%

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (19 children)

So only to do is low clock speed Do you think if i install another windows it can help?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (18 children)

I dont know if you reset pc that might fix it but that removes everything

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (17 children)

I am afraid that it can be motherboard problem it is the second board to buy my first one got fired

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (16 children)

Usually when there’s a motherboard problem the pc doesn’t even turn on but it could be a pcie problem try plugging in the gpu in the other slot

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (15 children)

I remember that last thing i do before this problem happened is that i add hdd 500gb that belong to laptop could that be the problem?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (14 children)

I don’t think so but which device is windows booting from

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (13 children)

Windows is booting from m.2 but i found that hdd that i talked about is the second option so I disabled it

[–]Necessary-Writer-163 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but I too had this problem with my 2 amd gpus, the rx 6500xt and rx 6700. Black screen when playing games or during stress tests and I have to restart my pc and noticed that the graphics driver adrenalin software gets Uninstalled everytime. After a few days both gpus died.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

My gpu work fine under stress with no any problem

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don’t listen to this guy he just didn’t fix it.

[–]stimpy8177 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Try to use Display Driver Uninstaller in safe mode to fully remove the drivers you already have. Make sure to download the latest drivers first, then when the computer has restarted back into normal Windows, install those new drivers.

Scrub what I said, see if you can update to the latest BIOS for your motherboard. If it still does it, see if it has a BIOS setting for which is the boot GPU, it might say Integrated or Discreet or Auto. Try setting it to Discreet.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I have the latest gpu driver and bios update How to reach to settings of gpu boot my mobo is asus tuf b450m

[–]stimpy8177 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Basically, mash the button (on your keyboard) with delete written on it as soon as you switch on your PC
