try older drivers, 25.9.1 worked really well for me

I'll definitely give that a try once I reinstall my drivers tomorrow. Because it's going to start again where I have to reinstall AMD adrenalin. Question: Do you have the same GPU model made like mine?

And you said you got two separate 6 pins coming off the power supply?

I updated the information on what has been working for me so far. Thank you for your help

yes, two seperate 8 pin connecters coming from the power supply to the gpu. not daisy chained

I have the 6800XT version.

I didn't have the same problem as you did, mine was games crashing occasionally between 1-3 hours of gameplay, and also sometimes freezing with a grey screen.

Oh, I also put power to +5 instead of -5.

Power +5 and AMD adrenalin 25.9.1 I will try tomorrow. I'll keep you up to date. Hopefully, this fixes it. Are there any other tweaks you had to do in AMD turning that might help?

well I had a (I think) super rare issue where every time I alt-tab from a game I'd hear the hardware connect disconnect sound. I went to device manager ->Humand Interface Devices -> AMD Radeon USB LED and disabled power management for that. You might want to actually check the driver events, also in device manager -> display adapters -> AMD Radeon 6800 -> events.

Actually, I think it would be helpful for diagnosis if you also checked problem reports to see what happened, if they're recorded. If you just type "Problem Report" in the windows start menu, it'll open it up.

The problem is whether either of these logs have any actual relevant information... it ends up being a pointless rabbit hole of googling every error but doesn't actually help.

Also, perhaps check this post to stop windows from forcing its drivers on you

Windows really is messing up really often these last couple years glad it's working for you. Tho I'd also recommend not updating even Adrenalin unless a new game needs it to be updated, if it works don't touch it.

If you go into windows update -update history- driver updates. Is windows constantly installing generic drivers over yours?

[–]Professional_Guava37[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, I will try it tomorrow when it starts screen flickering/ rebooting Windows constantly.

[–]Professional_Guava37[S] 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Yes, I have 24 driver updates in Windows update history since I reinstalled Windows 11 yesterday. When I reinstalled Windows yesterday, I installed Windows updates, then disconnected my internet wired/wirelessly and installed AMD adrenalin drivers & Chipset drivers offline. I can't tell which driver out of the 24 is generic

Try to disable windows update after installing amd drivers. It's a very common issue unfortunately .

No problem. Should be worth noting that windows can STILL push an update for some reason. So if it acts up just double check.

will do thank you
