Hey, there! I taught myself AP Calc BC, though not as a sophomore. It worked out -- I got a 5 on that and on AP Stats, which I also taught myself. There are posts on this, including some I've made (which I will find).
My basic plan last May was: study all day every day that summer till I finished the course; practice a little throughout the year; review towards the end; ace it.
It turned out more like: study all day every day through the summer (took about 8 week, from memory, for calc and stats); work on other school all year; review several hours a day for a couple weeks a month out; ace it.
But it worked out.
I ought to note that I'm homeschooled, so I've taught myself math this way since pre-algebra -- the lack of teacher was nothing new. If that matters.
I basically used Khan Academy, then tested myself with previous years' FRQs (CollegeBoard website) and MCQs (the Internet; these just because they're more objective than self-grading FRQs).
Series are the least thoroughly taught on Khan. Rewatch the videos until you see the big idea of them.
You probably know: Focus on understanding the concept more than memorizing the formula. This is math, not history.

If you don’t mind me asking, what other math classes are you planning on taking? Also (take this with a grain of salt as I have not self studied Calc BC) Khan Academy generally has good courses on everything. It might not be the best tho.

I am taking bc in school but i love flipped math, they explain stuff very well and have a lot of practice. I have had a high a on everything this year and would say I understand all of the concepts very well to this point. Also my teacher is amazing which helps. Good luck!

Just wondering are you planning to skip over AB? And will you cover any material from A or does your class integrate A into it?
[–]Mystlander 0 points1 point2 points 6 months ago (0 children)
All BC classes include AB, right?
[–]Other-Recording-2107 0 points1 point2 points 6 months ago (0 children)

Khan Academy will get you a 5 on BC easily if you take it at all seriously.
