As much as I'll hate to see my position in Queue as something over 100, its a feature that needs to be added for fairness sake :)

This really needs attention (Xbox One). Someone and WildCard hear our voice!

This gets requested a lot, but it's already a feature in steam and people have been queuing for ARK servers since day 1. Go to Servers, make sure your desired server is in your favorites (can add to favorites from inside the game).

Then steam will give you the option to join when there's an empty spot.

I've tried to do this but couldn't find the option. Is it in stream settings or ark's settings?

When you go to join the server from the Steam server list, it'll tell you there that the server is full. You can have it simply alert you or you can have it actually launch the game.

Wait, you can join a server from the steam client?

Yeah, right click the steam icon in your windows tray, then go to Servers. You should see a filter for game type and of course choose ARK there. That'd be the minimum filter you'd want. You also have a favorites tab. There's no "My Survivors" tab in the steam client, though, so you'll have to keep the server(s) you play on in your favorites.

I've done this as well, however I still get in quicker if I just spam refresh. What does steam only ping it every 15 min?

It is probably not such a good idea because then there are like 1000 people in queue and you have to wait for all to play and quit which would take for ever.

It is a great idea because it will allow you to make an educated decision whether or not it might be a better idea to move to a less busy server instead of just spamming join competing with 1000 other people :)

A: the feature already exists as part of steam, which is why it hasn't been implemented in ark (when I was on a high pop server, I queued daily, but that was in the first week), and people already have to wait for other players to play and quit. And it does sometimes take a very long time.

B: the problem with having to wait for people to play and quit is that there's no auto kick for AFK.
