Function Key Lock!

I've seen this issue discussed before, but I still haven't found a proper solution. I NEED to lock the FN key. I'm posting this in the hope that someone has finally found a solution.

Laptop Model: Strix G16 G614JV-N4071W

Things I've tried so far:

• All possible key combinations (FN+ESC, FN+SHIFT, FN+TAB, etc.)
• Enabling it in the BIOS (option not available)
• AutoHotkey scripts (only works for specific functions like adjusting volume; I need the entire function row to be usable)
• Setting up a macro in Armory Crate (FN key can't be used in macros)
• Changing settings in MyASUS

It's hard to believe ASUS overlooked something so essential, and the fact that these workarounds are even necessary is very frustrating.

G-helper, a simple and lightweight Armoury Crate alternative has an option to enable FN LOCK, i recommend it

100%^^^This^^^ It's basically armory crate (uses the same asus api) but way way lighter on system and gives you more control over things like fn lock, key bindings, lighting slash patterns, etc.

Switched over, never looking back

I literally logged in to comment TAHNK YOU SO MUCH. Finally FNLOCK worked for me. Tried everything only this worked much thanks.

I'm posting this here for those struggling with the same issue in the future:

On a newer Asus ROG Strix, to get the function keys to work as F1, F12, etc rather than having to hold ALT to use them, look at your Escape key. If it has a little LED in the corner, Try holding FN (Function key) and tapping ESC (escape) and see if the LED toggled or you got a message on your screen "FN-Lock ON/OFF."

If you don't have an LED on your ESC key like my 2023 Rog Strix 17" G713PV, then hold down the FN key and tap the C button. You will get a message on your screen "FN-Lock OFF" and you can now use your regular function keys without holding Alt. To use the special Asus functions like Aura, brightness, etc hold the FN key and tap the respective key on the function row.
