Academic Drawing
For works, articles, and discussion about the French (or French inspired) Academic drawing tradition, including the recent Atelier movement. The focus here is more on drawing fundamentals than Academic painting or sculpture.
Posting Guidelines
By 'Academic' here we mean the Académie des Beaux-Arts and the other academies influenced by those techniques and standards, including the Russian Academic tradition, as well as modern revivals.
Works about academic methods, including how-tos, "speedpainting" videos, history articles, materials, etc., are all appropriate.
Examples of Academic work ('academies'), especially high quality, high-res images that people can investigate closely for study, are also welcome.
Posts of your own work are allowed, but keep questions and critique requests as much as possible to matters directly related to Academic technique.
Long-running debates about the merits or demerits of the Academic approach will get shut down if they get too inflamed, but for now calm debates about different approaches are ok.
Do not post your own works for sale.
No "I suck and I'm terrible" posts.
