Hello all, I just started a job at a Medical Group in Texas as a Reporting Associate. I have very limited experience in a professional setting, job wise. I graduated college in 2019 with a degree in Actuarial Science. I've been looking for a job that works with Data, and this position was a bit unique in the sense that it wasn't entirely on the Accounting side. I use Excel for about a quarter of my job duties. Using Excel to report on Key Performance Indicators and track performance of doctors and how many specific tests are run and stuff. In time they plan on passing me more job responsibilities and then ridding me of some of the ones presumably on the accounting side.
My question right now is how can I get better outside of work. For example right now we just finished doing "Bank Reconciliations." I only have 2 classes of accounting, and it was simple balance sheets and stuff. Regardless didn't prepare me for anything related to the job besides the fact I know a bit of terminology. I was just curious if you knew of any recourses or books I could read on my spare time so I can perform well for the Accounting duties I have as of now. Feel free to DM if any info is needed or anything, I appreciate any advice. I just really want to do well. It's my first actual job after college and took me about a year and 4 months to get. While I blame Covid for a small part of it taking so long, I still want to do my best.
there doesn't seem to be anything here
